Poco X8 Pro Max has arrived in Indonesia and is now drawing attention as one of the most aggressive upper-midrange launches in its class. The phone enters the market with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s, an 8,500mAh battery, and a starting price equivalent to about $425, based on the official Indonesian pricing of Rp 6,699,000.

The device is positioned for buyers who want strong performance, long endurance, and a large display without moving into a much more expensive flagship segment. Poco also frames the X8 Pro Max toward gaming-focused users, supported by a high-refresh OLED screen, advanced cooling, and hardware tuned for heavy use.

A large phone, but still practical to handle

Poco X8 Pro Max uses an 8.2mm body and weighs 218 grams, which places it in the large-phone category while keeping the design relatively balanced.
Its frame uses metal, while the rear panel uses fiberglass, a combination that aims to improve rigidity without making the device feel overly bulky.

The front is dominated by a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 1,280 x 2,772 resolution.
It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, 12-bit color, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection for everyday durability.

An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor sits beneath the display, which can offer more precise unlocking than many optical alternatives.
For users who unlock their phones frequently in quick sessions, this detail adds a practical advantage.

Dimensity 9500s leads the performance push

Poco X8 Pro Max is the first X Series model to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset.
The phone is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, a combination aimed at demanding multitasking and gaming.

Poco says the phone can run popular titles such as Genshin Impact at up to 120fps with the help of Super Resolution technology.
That claim places the device in direct competition with performance-oriented phones that cost significantly more.

To support sustained output, Poco includes a 3D IceLoop vapor chamber cooling system.
This cooling setup is designed to manage heat during long gaming sessions and other heavy workloads, where thermal control often affects smoothness and battery efficiency.

8,500mAh battery becomes the key headline

The battery is one of the clearest selling points of the Poco X8 Pro Max.
At 8,500mAh, Poco says the phone is the first in the world to ship with this capacity, making it stand out even among battery-focused smartphones.

Charging support is equally important, as the device supports 100W HyperCharger and 27W reverse charging.
That means users get not only long runtime but also fast top-ups and the ability to share power with accessories or other devices when needed.

Camera setup covers daily needs

On the back, Poco X8 Pro Max carries a 50MP Light Fusion 600 main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.
For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 20MP front camera.

The camera package is not the main focus of the device, but it remains capable for common uses.
That includes everyday social content, casual photography, and routine video communication, which will matter to many users outside the gaming segment.

Indonesia pricing and variants

The official Indonesian pricing places the X8 Pro Max in a competitive position for its hardware class.
The available variants are listed below:

  1. 12GB + 256GB — Rp 6,699,000, or about $425
  2. 12GB + 512GB — Rp 7,199,000, or about $457

Poco started selling the device on April 4, and it is available only through online channels.
With a large OLED display, a flagship-grade chipset, an unusually massive battery, and a price that still stays near the $400 range, the Poco X8 Pro Max arrives as a strong option for users who want endurance and performance in one package.
