Huawei has brought the Mate 80 Pro to Indonesia with a premium package built around a 4x telephoto camera, a 5,750 mAh battery, and a tougher body design. The phone is priced at Rp 16.999.000 for the 16GB/512GB variant.

The launch also marks the return of the Mate series to the Indonesian market after more than five years away. Huawei positions the device as a flagship option for users who want not only performance, but also strong imaging capabilities, added durability, and a full set of supporting features.

A sturdier flagship approach

Huawei gives the Mate 80 Pro a design language that focuses on both style and resilience. The body uses vegan material and a durable frame that is claimed to improve impact resistance by up to five times.

Protection is reinforced further with IP68 and IP69 certification, while the front is covered by Kunlun Glass 2.0, which is said to offer up to 20 times stronger drop resistance. The phone measures 161.85 x 76 x 7.95 mm and weighs 219 grams.

For Indonesia, Huawei offers the device in Black, Green, and Gold color options. The vegan fiber finish is intended to give the phone a more premium look and feel.

Large LTPO OLED display with high brightness

On the front, the Mate 80 Pro carries a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with 2.8K resolution, or 2832 x 1280 pixels. The panel supports a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, PWM dimming up to 1,440Hz, HDR Vivid, and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

Huawei also places a 3D ToF Face Unlock system above the screen for security and convenience. The combination of a large panel and extra protection makes the handset suitable for users who want a comfortable viewing experience without ignoring durability.

4x telephoto zoom remains the key camera feature

Photography is one of the main selling points of the Mate 80 Pro. The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 40 MP ultrawide camera, and a 48 MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and OIS.

At the front, Huawei provides a 13 MP selfie camera. The phone also uses a True-to-Colour camera system designed to keep photo colors close to real-life conditions across different shooting scenarios.

Huawei adds AI-based tools to expand image processing options. Among the included features are AI Remove, AI Best Expression, and AI Moving Picture.

Performance, memory, and battery

Huawei does not specify the chipset used in the Mate 80 Pro. Even so, the company says the device delivers performance that is 21% faster than the previous generation and stays cooler thanks to a new vapor chamber cooling system.

The phone comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It is powered by a 5,750 mAh battery that supports Huawei SuperCharge 100W and wireless charging up to 80W.

The Mate 80 Pro runs EMUI 15.0 and includes 4G LTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen1 port.

Security features and launch offer

Other hardware features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, an infrared sensor, and the IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance rating. Huawei presents the device as a premium all-rounder for users who want a wide feature set in one handset.

Preorders begin on 24 April through Huawei’s official online and offline channels. During the 24 April to 24 May 2026 promotion period, the company is offering exclusive bonuses worth up to Rp 7.5 million.

The package includes bank cashback of up to Rp 3 million, trade-in cashback of up to Rp 2 million, and after-sales benefits such as battery replacement and screen protection. With its 4x zoom camera, large battery, and reinforced body, the Mate 80 Pro is now back in Indonesia as Huawei’s latest flagship offering.
