Vivo is pushing its midrange strategy in a very direct direction with the Y600 Pro, and the headline feature is hard to miss: a 10,000 mAh battery paired with 90 W fast charging. That combination immediately places the device in a narrow but increasingly competitive battle centered on endurance rather than typical midrange selling points.
The model is being positioned against Honor Power 2, which is said to carry a slightly larger 10,080 mAh battery. In practice, that means the contest is not about small design differences or routine feature upgrades, but about which phone can offer stronger stamina for daily use.
Battery becomes the main identity
Vivo has made it clear that the Y600 Pro is built around long-lasting power. A 10,000 mAh battery is unusual in the midrange category, where most devices still fall below that level.
The large capacity is matched by 90 W charging support, which matters because bigger batteries usually take longer to refill. Vivo appears to be aiming for a balance between endurance and convenience, so users do not have to trade quick top-ups for a massive battery pack.
China launch confirmed
The Y600 Pro is confirmed to debut in China soon. At the moment, there is no official information about availability in global markets, including Indonesia.
That leaves the phone in an early announcement phase for now. For buyers outside China, the next updates from Vivo will be important, especially if the company expands the device beyond its home market.
Design hints are already visible
Vivo has also started showing the handset’s physical appearance. The rear panel is shown in purple, with a circular camera module accented by gold detailing.
This gives the Y600 Pro a more premium look than what is often expected from a battery-focused midrange phone. That visual approach matters, since large-battery devices can otherwise appear purely practical and less refined.
Camera details remain limited
Beyond the design teaser, some leaked information has also surfaced. Gizchina reported that the Y600 Pro may feature a dual rear camera setup.
The main sensor is said to be 50 megapixels, although Vivo has not confirmed that detail officially. For now, the camera setup remains part of the rumor picture rather than the confirmed specification list.
A wider shift in the midrange race
The rise of phones like the Y600 Pro suggests that battery size is becoming a stronger competitive weapon in the midrange segment. Brands are no longer relying only on chipset performance, camera hardware, or slimness to attract attention.
Honor Power 2 is part of that same trend, and the source material also mentions the possible arrival of Honor Win in the same class of jumbo-battery devices. At the same time, Digital Chat Station on Weibo has reportedly revealed that Xiaomi is preparing a mysterious Redmi phone with a 10,000 mAh battery.
If those devices reach the market as expected, the midrange segment could shift into a new phase where stamina becomes one of the clearest points of competition. That would give buyers more choices among phones designed for longer daily use without moving out of the middle-price category.
Vivo’s continued focus on large batteries
The Y600 Pro also fits into Vivo’s broader pattern. The company has already released models with above-average battery sizes, including the Vivo T5 Pro with a 9,020 mAh battery and the Vivo Y31d Pro with a 7,000 mAh battery.
Seen in that context, the Y600 Pro looks less like an isolated experiment and more like the next step in an existing product strategy. It is also projected as the successor to the Vivo Y500 Pro, which came with a Dimensity 7400 chipset, a 1.5K 120Hz OLED display, and a slim 7.8 mm body.
Whether all of those elements will carry over to the new model has not been confirmed, but the direction is already clear. Vivo is building a midrange phone that tries to stand out first through endurance, while still keeping design appeal and supporting features in the picture.
