GoSend has introduced a new verification layer for instant deliveries with a 4-digit package receipt code. The feature is meant to make handoffs more secure, especially when the items being sent are sensitive or valuable, such as documents and electronic devices.
The system adds a one-time code that must be shown to the driver partner before the delivery can be marked complete. If the code is not provided, the order cannot be finished, which helps reduce the risk of misdelivery or a package being handed to the wrong person.
How the 4-digit verification works
The Package Receipt Code uses a 4-digit OTP-style number. Once the feature is enabled, that code appears in both the sender’s and recipient’s Gojek app, making the handover process more controlled without slowing down the delivery flow.
GoSend also keeps the feature optional and free of charge. That means users can choose whether to turn it on based on the type of item they are sending and how much extra control they want over the delivery.
Activation during ordering
Users can activate Package Receipt Code directly when placing a GoSend order in the app. After the feature is turned on, the system displays the unique 4-digit code in the Gojek app for both sides of the transaction.
Group Chat is also activated automatically so the sender, recipient, and driver can coordinate more easily. If the recipient does not use the app, the code can still be shared through WhatsApp or manually.
The process remains simple, but each step adds more certainty to the handover.
- Turn on Package Receipt Code when ordering GoSend.
- Wait for the unique 4-digit code to appear in the app.
- Use Group Chat to stay in contact with the driver.
- Share the code through WhatsApp or manually if needed.
- Give the code to the driver after the package is received so the order can be completed.
This setup ensures the driver cannot close the job until the recipient confirms receipt through the code.
Security features already in place
The new code-based verification adds to other protections already available in the Gojek ecosystem. Two of the existing features are live tracking and insurance protection of up to Rp50 million, both of which give users more oversight when sending packages.
By combining those safeguards with the new receipt code, GoSend is aiming to keep instant delivery fast while also making the delivery process more secure and accountable.
Designed for personal and business use
Head of Logistics Gojek, Sohan Vaswani, said the innovation was created to strengthen user trust. He also pointed out that the risk of packages ending up with the wrong recipient remains one of the main concerns in instant delivery.
Sohan noted that fast delivery has become part of everyday activity for both personal and business needs. For that reason, GoSend is trying to maintain speed while improving safety until the package reaches its destination.
The feature has also drawn positive reactions from business users who send high-value items through the service. Ruci Art Space sees Package Receipt Code as useful for protecting artworks that carry strong personal value.
Co-Founder of Ruci Art Space, Neysa Soediro, said, “Every work has a value that cannot always be measured by money.” That view highlights why an additional verification step can matter for items with emotional as well as financial significance.
With Package Receipt Code, GoSend is building a more secure standard for instant delivery without making the receiving process more complicated.
