A Gaming-Focused OnePlus Flagship Built For 165 FPS, Plus A Separate Controller Accessory

OnePlus has expanded its Ace 6 lineup with the Ace 6 Ultra, a model aimed squarely at users who want a gaming-first phone with strong hardware support. The device stands out not only because of its high frame-rate claims, but also because OnePlus is pairing it with a dedicated gaming controller sold separately.

The most attention-grabbing detail is the claim that several popular games can run at up to 165 fps on the Ace 6 Ultra. OnePlus says titles such as League of Legends: Wild Rift, Clash of Clans, Soul Knight, and Subway Surfers are supported at that level, placing the device firmly in the performance-focused category.

Hardware built for sustained gaming

At the core of the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, matched with a 12-core Mali-G1 Ultra GPU. OnePlus says this setup delivers more than double the ray tracing performance, while the octa-core CPU gets a 32 percent boost in single-core performance through the ARM C1-Ultra core.

The company also claims overall performance rises by up to 33 percent compared with the previous generation. For heavier workloads, OnePlus says the Ace 6 Ultra can run Delta Force at 165 fps for three hours without performance drops, while averaging 4.6 watts of power consumption.

Battery capacity is a major selling point

Battery life is another area where OnePlus is pushing hard. The Ace 6 Ultra uses an 8,600 mAh dual-cell battery, which OnePlus describes as one of the largest capacities in its smartphone lineup.

According to the company, the phone can last up to 7.4 hours of gaming at 165 fps or as long as 13.6 hours for navigation. It also supports 120W fast charging and bypass charging, while OnePlus says the battery is designed to maintain usable life for up to five years.

Charging times are relatively short for a battery this large. OnePlus says the device can reach 53 percent in 20 minutes and fully charge in around 49 minutes.

Display and visual features

The Ace 6 Ultra uses a 6.78-inch OLED panel from BOE with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. It supports 10-bit color, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, giving it the kind of display specification expected from a premium entertainment and gaming device.

Peak brightness is rated at 3,600 nits at 25 percent APL. OnePlus also uses DC dimming above 70 nits and high-frequency PWM dimming below 70 nits to help improve eye comfort under different viewing conditions.

Cameras remain part of the package

Although gaming is the main focus, OnePlus still includes a practical camera setup. The rear system consists of a 50 MP main camera with a 1/1.55-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and OIS, along with an 8 MP ultrawide camera with a 16 mm focal length.

On the front, the phone has a 16 MP selfie camera with a 23 mm focal length. Video recording reaches up to 4K 60 fps on the rear camera, while the front camera supports 1080p 30 fps.

Build, audio, and durability

The body uses an aluminum alloy frame and tempered glass on the front panel. The rear side comes in two variants, with tempered glass on the Ace Awakening version and regular glass on the Metal Storm version.

OnePlus also equips the phone with symmetrical stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. For protection, the device carries IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings.

A separate controller adds to the gaming ecosystem

OnePlus is also offering a dedicated gaming controller that is sold separately. The accessory includes four extra rear buttons with a 1.8-millisecond response time, making it a more specialized input option for supported games.

It is not designed as a full console controller, but it does add extras such as an additional antenna, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a secondary USB-C port, and a magnetic mount for a cooling fan that is also sold separately. Its retractable design also allows it to be used with other devices.

Pricing in China

In China, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is available in several configurations. The 12/256 GB version is priced at 3,800 yuan, while the 16/1 TB model costs 5,400 yuan.

Other options include the 16/256 GB variant at 4,100 yuan, the 12/512 GB version at 4,400 yuan, and the 16/512 GB configuration at 4,700 yuan. The gaming controller is sold separately for 450 yuan, reinforcing OnePlus’ effort to build a broader gaming-oriented ecosystem around the device.
