Motorola’s Moto G87 is drawing attention before any official announcement, largely because the leaked renders point to a more polished look than many would expect from a midrange phone. The most eye-catching detail is the 200MP main camera, a spec that immediately positions the device as a serious photography-focused contender.
The images, shared by veteran leaker Evan Blass, offer a fairly clear first look at the handset. They also suggest that Motorola is leaning into a premium style through a simple design language and an exclusive Pantone-backed color selection.
A cleaner Motorola look with a familiar layout
Moto G87 appears to keep the brand’s familiar minimalist approach while adding a more refined feel. The front side shows a flat display with rounded corners, while the right edge holds the volume keys and power button.
That arrangement keeps the phone visually clean and practical for everyday use. On the left side sits the SIM card slot, and the bottom edge includes a USB-C port and a speaker grille.
200MP camera becomes the main talking point
The biggest differentiator is the square camera module placed in the upper-left corner of the back panel. Inside it sits the 200MP primary sensor, which makes the phone’s camera ambitions impossible to miss.
This choice signals Motorola’s intent to push the G series further into competitive territory. A 200MP sensor in a midrange device also gives the line a more premium appeal without moving it into flagship pricing territory.
Pantone colors add extra identity
Motorola is again partnering with Pantone to strengthen the phone’s visual identity. The leaked color options include Pantone Overture Gray and Pantone Blue Atoll, alongside Arctic Seal, Black Olive, Nile, and Shaded Spruce.
The broader palette suggests a strategy aimed at different style preferences rather than a single uniform look. That variety may help the Moto G87 stand out in a crowded midrange market where design has become nearly as important as specifications.
Expected hardware and availability
On the performance side, the Moto G87 is said to use a MediaTek Dimensity 6000-series chipset. The chip is described as capable enough for everyday productivity and routine use.
Memory details point to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. That combination should provide comfortable room for apps, files, and multimedia content in a segment where storage capacity still matters a great deal.
Some analysts expect the device to launch globally starting next month. It is also said to have a chance of arriving alongside the Razr 70 series in certain international markets, although official pricing and availability details have not been revealed.
