Lenovo’s latest push into the premium tablet segment is built around a simple idea: deliver high-end hardware without matching the usual high-end pricing. The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 arrives with a 13-inch display, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, and a launch price of 39.999 rupee, or around Rp7,8 juta.
That combination places the Android tablet in direct view of buyers who would normally look at iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab models. In India, first sales begin on 1 May through Lenovo’s official website, e-commerce channels, and retail stores.
A large display made for work and media
The most immediate selling point is the screen. Lenovo equips the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 with a 13-inch PureSight Pro panel that supports 3.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
That setup is aimed at users who split time between reading, watching video, and editing content. In this price range, the display alone gives the tablet a strong position in the premium Android class.
Performance tuned for heavier workloads
Lenovo pairs the tablet with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which is supported by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The hardware mix is designed to handle multitasking, creative tasks, and modern gaming.
To make the package more appealing, Lenovo is also offering a limited bank discount of 3.000 rupee, or around Rp586 ribu. That promotion adds extra pressure on rivals by lowering the entry cost further.
Productivity tools come bundled in
The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 includes Lenovo Tab Pen Plus in the box. It also supports a 2-in-1 keyboard accessory with a touchpad, although that accessory is sold separately.
Lenovo also adds several AI-focused tools, including AI Notes, Smart Reader, AI Creation Tools, and Live Transcript. The tablet additionally supports Circle to Search and Google Gemini, which makes it more useful for users who want help with note-taking, reading, and faster workflows.
Battery, cameras, and everyday use
Power comes from a 10,200 mAh battery, backed by 45W fast charging. Lenovo positions that battery setup for all-day use, which matters for both entertainment and mobile productivity.
The camera system is practical rather than flashy, with a 13MP rear camera that includes autofocus and an 8MP front camera. That configuration is enough for video calls and online meetings without unnecessary complication.
Software support and modern connectivity
At launch, the tablet runs Android 16. Lenovo says it will receive two operating system upgrades up to Android 18, along with four years of security updates through 2030.
Connectivity support is also current, with USB Type-C, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0 included. Those features help keep the tablet aligned with current expectations for a premium device.
With its large 13-inch 3.5K 144Hz display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 performance, bundled stylus, and relatively approachable pricing, the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 stands out as one of Lenovo’s most aggressive tablet offerings.
