Huawei’s latest Watch Fit model arrives with a clearer purpose than a simple refresh. The Watch Fit 5 Pro puts more emphasis on battery endurance, stronger materials, and expanded health tracking, making it a more substantial step up for the line.
At £250, the smartwatch is positioned as more than a style-focused wearable. Huawei is asking buyers to notice the practical changes first, especially in daily comfort, power management, and the kind of health data the watch can now collect.
A familiar shape with a more refined finish
The Watch Fit 5 Pro still carries a design language that will look familiar to anyone who has followed the series. It keeps the same general inspiration associated with Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra styling, but Huawei has adjusted several details to make the watch feel more polished.
One of the most visible changes is the shift to 2.5D front glass, replacing the flat glass used on the Watch Fit 4 Pro. The display is still protected by sapphire crystal glass, which is intended to improve scratch resistance.
The body is also slightly larger than before, although Huawei says the weight remains unchanged from the previous generation. The watch comes in Orange, White, and Black, with the Orange version adding color accents at the front and a matte case with a subtle gold tone.
Huawei says the White version uses a special surface coating designed for better durability. The company claims that coating improves scratch resistance by 15%, surface hardness by 130%, and wear resistance by 100%.
Battery capacity gets a clear boost
The most meaningful hardware update sits inside the watch. Huawei equips the Watch Fit 5 Pro with a 471mAh battery, which is 12% larger than the 400mAh unit in the Watch Fit 4 Pro.
Huawei describes the new cell as a high-silicon stacked battery. It says the watch can last up to 7 days under typical use and up to 10 days with lighter use.
That improvement matters because the product does not appear to trade endurance for extra weight. For a wearable device, keeping the same weight while increasing battery capacity is a practical upgrade that many users will notice quickly.
The retail box includes the watch unit, a fabric strap, and a universal wireless charging puck. The reviewed unit comes with an orange fabric strap, while the charger still uses a USB-A end.
Health tracking takes a bigger role
Huawei is also expanding the watch’s health focus. The Watch Fit 5 Pro adds arterial stiffness detection, joining ECG and Atrial Fibrillation tracking that were already part of the lineup.
Alongside those more advanced functions, the smartwatch continues to include the standard sensors expected from this category. These cover heart rate, blood oxygen or SpO2, skin temperature, and stress monitoring.
Sleep tracking has also been improved. Huawei says the watch uses a new algorithm for better accuracy and adds nap detection, which allows it to recognize daytime sleep as well.
That broader sleep monitoring gives the device a more complete view of rest, rather than limiting attention to overnight sleep alone. It also reinforces the idea that the Watch Fit 5 Pro is being aimed at users who want more serious health insights from a smartwatch.
A more serious position for the Watch Fit line
With its global launch, the Watch Fit 5 Pro is stepping into a wider market with a clearer identity. The combination of a larger battery, tougher materials, and more advanced health features gives the watch a stronger case than a cosmetic update would.
Huawei’s £250 pricing places it in a segment where buyers will expect both premium design and useful functionality. The Watch Fit 5 Pro is now set to be judged on how those claims hold up in everyday use, from battery life and comfort to the reliability of its health tracking tools.
