Vivo’s next flagship family is already taking shape in an unusual way. Instead of only two models, the GSMA database points to three names at once: Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500e.
That extra “e” model matters because it suggests a broader lineup than a standard two-tier flagship refresh. It also hints that Vivo may be preparing a more accessible option within the X500 family, while keeping the main X500 and X500 Pro at the center of the premium range.
A lineup that looks more layered than before
Smartprix reports that the GSMA database entries identify the three devices by name, even though no technical specifications have appeared there yet. Even so, the listing itself is enough to show that the X500 series has moved into a more formal preparation stage.
The most interesting part is the X500e. This kind of variant is not commonly seen in Vivo’s main flagship lineup, so its appearance signals a different product structure for the next generation.
With three models in play, Vivo appears to be building more than a simple successor to the X300 series. The company could be preparing distinct options for users who want a compact flagship, a larger-screen model, or a version with a more approachable price point.
Why the X400 appears to be skipped
Another notable detail is the naming jump from X400 straight to X500. That move is not unusual among Chinese smartphone brands, where the number 4 is often avoided.
In that market, the digit 4 is frequently linked with bad luck in local cultural beliefs. Seen in that context, skipping the X400 label fits a broader naming strategy rather than an isolated decision.
The result is a cleaner leap in branding, even if it also makes the next step in the series look larger on paper than the model count alone would suggest.
Early talk around performance, battery, and display
The GSMA listing does not reveal hardware details, but early rumors already point to some of the parts Vivo may be preparing for the two main models. The Vivo X500 and X500 Pro are said to use the upcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.
That chip is reportedly built on TSMC’s 2nm process, which would make it an important part of the performance story if the rumor proves accurate. The same reports also say both models could carry batteries above 7,000mAh, paired with 100W fast charging.
A combination like that would place battery life and charging speed among the key selling points of the series. For a flagship family, that mix would be especially notable if Vivo brings it through to the final devices.
Display and camera changes may also be part of the plan
There are also signs that Vivo wants to raise the display and camera ambitions of the X500 generation. The series is said to support a 144Hz refresh rate, which would place it slightly above what some users may expect from a standard flagship refresh.
On the camera side, the X500 Pro is rumored to receive a new LOFIC sensor. That sensor is said to improve dynamic range, helping the phone handle bright and dark areas in photos more effectively.
Those details remain unconfirmed, but they add weight to the idea that Vivo is not planning a minor update. The X500 family may instead arrive as a more deliberate step up in both imaging and everyday hardware experience.
What the database listing really signals
A GSMA entry rarely means a launch is immediate, but it does indicate that the product has moved further along in development. At that stage, major parts of the lineup tend to be more clearly defined, even if final specifications are still hidden.
For reference, the Vivo X300 series launched in October 2025. Based on that pattern, the Vivo X500 series is expected around the same period in 2026.
There is still a long road ahead before any official unveiling. Even so, the appearance of three model names at once already suggests that Vivo is preparing a larger structural shift for its next flagship family rather than a simple model-number update.
