Tuesday Brings Downpours And Wind To Southeast Michigan, Heat, Humidity, And More Storms Follow

Tuesday starts off mild and muggy in Southeast Michigan, but the calm won’t last long. By the afternoon, hot, humid air is expected to build, along with a chance for storms to develop across the region.

FOX 2 said highs Tuesday will reach near 85 degrees, which is above the typical 78 degrees for this time of year. That warming trend continues into Wednesday and Thursday, when temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s.

Storm chances increase through the midweek stretch

Afternoon downpours and windy conditions are possible Tuesday as storms move in. FOX 2 also noted scattered showers on Wednesday, with storms possible again on Thursday as the humid pattern holds.

The combination of heat and humidity will make it feel even warmer than the thermometer shows. Heat index values are expected to run in the mid to upper 90s on Wednesday and Thursday.

What the forecast means for the rest of the week

The weather pattern stays unsettled for several days, with multiple chances for rain and storms rather than one isolated round. That means Southeast Michigan could see changing conditions quickly, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Relief may not arrive until later in the week, when temperatures begin to ease. FOX 2 said the air should finally cool off by Sunday, with highs near 80 degrees.
