Marcello Hernández’s Kevin Hart Impression Sends TODAY Hosts Into Laughter

Author: Qoo Media

Marcello Hernández turned a routine TV interview into a rapid-fire comedy exchange when he performed his impression of Kevin Hart on TODAY. The bit left co-hosts Sheinelle Jones and Al Roker laughing so hard that the conversation briefly came to a halt.

Hernández and Hart appeared on the program to discuss their upcoming Netflix comedy, 72 Hours. When Jones asked Hernández what it was like to work with Hart, the Saturday Night Live performer immediately offered to demonstrate.

He asked Jones to play the role of someone seeking advice, then slipped into character as Hart while pretending to take a business call. “They gotta bring the money up!” Hernández said, portraying Hart as a comedian confident about the price of his time.

“Money’s gotta be up if you want me to do that,” Hernández continued. “I’m good. I’m good, but it’s gonna cost ya!”

The mock negotiation drew laughter from Jones, Hart and the studio crew. Hernández capped the bit with another demand in character: “Add a zero!”

Hart Takes the Impression in Stride

Hart responded to the impersonation by calling it “ridiculous,” but Hernández kept the joke going. He pointed to Hart’s AirPods and suggested they were ready in case a CEO called with an offer to make him “the face of Froot Loops.”

According to www.today.com, Roker was also doubled over laughing as the exchange continued. Hernández then dropped the impression and made clear that the jokes came from a place of admiration.

“I’m grateful to work with Kevin,” Hernández said. “He’s a nice guy.”

Hart returned the compliment, saying he had watched Hernández’s talent unfold in real time. He also praised his co-star for doing “an amazing job” hosting the 2026 ESPY Awards.

The Jokes Turn to Hart’s Shirt and Hernández’s Socks

Hernández was not finished teasing his co-star, turning his attention to Hart’s outfit. He joked that Hart must start the day debating whether to wear a normal shirt or a “weird rust-silver combo” that looked suited for both golf and a steakhouse maître d’.

Hart fired back by asking why Hernández never wears socks. Hernández answered simply, “Because I’m Dominican.”

Jones appeared unable to regain her composure by the end of the segment, saying, “I can’t, I can’t. I don’t even need to say anything else.” As she handed the program over for the weather, Roker added one last callback: “Add another zero to the temperature.”
