Sadie Sink has confirmed she is part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but she is still keeping the identity of her character under wraps. The actor addressed fan theories in a playful Instagram video while offering only a few carefully limited clues.
Her clearest answer was a denial that she is Aunt May, the role Marisa Tomei played before the character’s death in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Sink also ruled out playing Spider-Man himself, leaving the central question about her role unanswered.
Three Answers, One Major Mystery
“Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing,” Sink said in the clip. She said she would provide “three exclusive, confirmed answers” in response to the speculation.
Sink began by saying, “I can confirm I am not Spider-Man.” She then added, “I am not Aunt May,” before confirming that she is indeed in the movie.
“As for who I really am, you’ll have to find out in the theater,” Sink said. The post’s caption reinforced the limited reveal, stating, “We can confirm…she’s in this movie.”
Working With Tom Holland
Sink recently spoke about joining the superhero production and working alongside Tom Holland. In an interview with Nylon, she described arriving as “a little bit of an outsider” but said Holland and the crew made her feel welcome.
“He was just so relaxed and open, and I felt very at ease,” Sink said of Holland. Deadline reported that Sink will appear in the film with Holland, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Mark Ruffalo.
Peter Parker Faces a New Threat
The film’s logline describes a changed life for Peter Parker, who is fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that no longer remembers him. Pressure from watching his old friends move on sparks a change that he may not be able to control.
That transformation could also be Peter’s only way to stop a new threat to the city and the people he loves. The villain is described as a powerful force “no one can even see,” while Peter remains unable to forget those the world has forgotten.
