
The upcoming SFFilm Awards Night will honor prominent figures in the film industry, including Kristen Stewart and Benicio del Toro. The event takes place on Dec. 8 at the Gateway Pavilion in Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture.
Kristen Stewart receives the Nion McEvoy & Leslie Berriman Award for Storytelling. She is recognized for her ongoing career and her directorial debut with the upcoming film “The Chronology of Water.”
Benicio del Toro earns the Maria Manetti Shrem Award for Acting. The veteran actor, known for his Oscar-winning role in “Traffic,” gained attention this year for performances in “The Phoenician Scheme” and “One Battle After Another.”
Wunmi Mosaku, noted for her role in “Sinners,” will be honored with the George Gund III Award for Virtuosity. Oakland native Delroy Lindo, her co-star in “Sinners,” is set to present this award.
Scott Cooper, director of “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” is slated to receive the Irving M. Levin Award for Film Direction. The presenter for Cooper’s award has not yet been announced.
The ceremony serves as SFFilm’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the event support youth education, artist development, and year-round curated film programming.
SFFilm Executive Director Anne Lai emphasized the lasting impact of the honorees’ work. She said their contributions align with SFFilm’s mission to nurture future artists and audiences.
Imogen Poots, starring in Stewart’s directorial debut, will present Stewart’s storytelling award. Regina Hall, who co-starred with del Toro, will present his acting honor.
Tickets ranged from $1,250 to $10,000 and have sold out quickly. Supporters can still contribute to SFFilm’s programs by donating through its official website.
