Terry McLaurin Active for Commanders vs. Broncos
Wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been confirmed as active for the Washington Commanders’ Sunday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos. This marks his first game at Northwest Stadium since suffering a quad injury in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Head coach Dan Quinn praised McLaurin’s hard work in rehab. "To see that come back after some frustrating days and hard conversations in quiet moments, to work hard and get back, it’s a big deal," Quinn said during the Friday press conference.
McLaurin’s return will reinstate a key dynamic to the Commanders’ offense. Quinn highlighted McLaurin’s "superpower," the ability to catch explosive downfield passes, as well as his effectiveness on screen passes and intermediate routes.
Since his injury, McLaurin has played only once, in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. In that game, he recorded three catches for 54 yards and scored the Commanders’ only touchdown. He recently resumed practice after the bye week to prepare for Sunday’s matchup.
McLaurin expressed confidence in his recovery. He stated he feels better this time around, with no tightness in his quad and improved acceleration running routes. He emphasized the importance of returning to help the team and seeing the offense at full strength.
“The plan at the beginning was for all of us to make plays and feed off each other,” McLaurin said. “Hopefully, we get to see that with everyone healthy and contributing.”
Not all teammates will join McLaurin on the field. Quinn ruled out wide receiver Noah Brown, quarterback Jayden Daniels, and defensive end Drake Jackson for Sunday’s game. Daniels remains unfit for contact despite good practice efforts this week.
Brown is still recovering from groin and knee injuries and will miss his 10th game. Quinn noted Brown is close to returning, which would add a deep threat for the passing game. The team has two weeks left to decide Brown’s activation or move him to injured reserve.
Injury Status Summary for Sunday:
- Terry McLaurin – Active, returning from quad injury
- Noah Brown – Out, groin and knee injuries
- Jayden Daniels – Out, not cleared for contact
- Drake Jackson – Out
Fans can expect McLaurin to play a pivotal role in the Commanders’ offensive effort against the Broncos.
