The Denver Broncos have signed wide receiver Elijah Moore to their practice squad, confirming a move first reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Moore visited the Broncos’ facility on Monday before the team finalized the agreement.
Moore enters the Broncos organization after four NFL seasons, initially drafted in the second round by the New York Jets out of Ole Miss. He has played for the Jets, Cleveland Browns, and most recently the Buffalo Bills, compiling 200 receptions for 2,162 yards and nine touchdowns in his career.
During this past spring, Moore signed a one-year deal with the Bills and recorded nine receptions for 112 yards over nine games before being waived. The Bills released him to make room for wide receiver Brandin Cooks. This transition opens an opportunity for Moore to prove himself with his fourth NFL team.
The Broncos face the necessity of an accompanying roster move to accommodate Moore on the practice squad. Possible candidates for release include wide receivers Michael Bandy, A.T. Perry, and Kyrese Rowan. Of these, Rowan appears to be the most probable player to be cut.
Denver’s active roster already features five wide receivers: Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, and Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Moore’s addition adds depth and competition to a group that could benefit from fresh talent.
If Moore performs well during practice sessions and developmental drills, he may be in line for promotion to the Broncos’ 53-man roster later in the season. This signing shows the Broncos’ intent to cultivate a stronger receiving corps with experienced players.
As the season progresses, Moore’s contribution to the Broncos’ offense will remain under close observation. His prior performance and versatility provide potential value for the team’s receiving unit. The practice squad placement serves as a proving ground for Moore to regain momentum in his NFL career.
