Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $820 Million for Upcoming Saturday Draw in the U.S.

Powerball’s jackpot has surged to $820 million for the upcoming drawing on Saturday, December 6. No jackpot winner was declared in the previous drawing held on November 29, increasing excitement among hopeful players nationwide.

The winning numbers from the last draw were 1, 14, 20, 46, 51, with the Powerball number 26 and a Powerplay multiplier of 3x. Although the jackpot went unclaimed, notable prizes included a $2 million prize won by a ticket sold in Kentucky, hitting all five white balls plus the Power Play. Additionally, one ticket each in California and Florida won $1 million by matching all five white balls.

In recent months, major Powerball prizes have been awarded across several states. On May 31, a Californian player won $205 million, while a Kentucky ticket matched five white balls and the red Powerball for $168 million on April 26. Earlier in March, an Anaheim resident took home $526.5 million, and in January, another winner secured $331 million. The largest recent jackpot was in September, when two tickets from Missouri and Texas split nearly $1.8 billion, marking one of the highest in history.

To participate in Powerball, players select five numbers from 1 to 59 and a Powerball number from 1 to 26. Tickets cost $2 per play. There is an optional Powerplay feature available for an additional cost that can multiply non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 5, or even 10 times, depending on the multiplier drawn.

Drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time from the Florida Lottery drawing studio in Tallahassee. Powerball is available in 45 states, as well as Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Jackpot winners can choose either an annuity paid over 29 years or a lump sum cash payment. Both payout options are announced before federal and state taxes are deducted.

As anticipation builds for the December 6 drawing, millions of players across the United States look forward to trying their luck at what could be one of the biggest jackpots to date.
