Sheriff’s Office Updates on Arkansas Mom and 6-Year-Old Twins Found Dead: Investigation Details

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has provided new information regarding the deaths of an Arkansas mother and her 6-year-old twin children. The bodies were discovered on the morning of December 3 in a Bonanza residence, all suffering gunshot wounds.

Authorities were called to the scene for a welfare check, aided by two workers who helped them gain entry into the home. Law enforcement officials continue to treat the case with urgency, although they do not believe an ongoing public threat exists.

Investigation Progress and Involved Agencies

SCSO reports that twelve search warrants are currently being processed, with six already executed in connection to the case. Multiple interviews have taken place as investigators gather a large volume of evidence. Autopsy results are awaited to provide further clarity on the cause and timing of death.

The investigation involves a collaborative effort from several agencies: the Arkansas State Police, Bonanza Police Department, Greenwood Police, Fort Smith Police, Sebastian County Prosecutor’s Office, and federal assistance from the U.S. Secret Service and Homeland Security Investigations.

Family Background and Legal Context

The victims were identified as 40-year-old Charity Powell-Beallis and her twins. Family members have expressed grief and sought answers, with Powell-Beallis’s father describing the children as "perfect, beautiful."

Interestingly, records show that Powell-Beallis and her ex-husband had a final divorce hearing scheduled for December 2, the day before the bodies were found. However, court documents do not confirm the hearing’s outcome, leaving questions about potential motives still unanswered.

Law enforcement continues to investigate all angles while urging the public to remain calm. The sheriff’s office encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward as the case develops.
