Hawaii Men’s Basketball Overpowers Hawaii Hilo in Dominant Victory

Hawaii men’s basketball team secured an emphatic 98-46 win against Hawaii Hilo at Bankoh Arena in Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Warriors improved their record to 9-2, while the Vulcans extended their losing streak to seven games.

Harry Rouhliadeff led the way with 16 points, alongside nine rebounds and five assists, demonstrating the team’s balanced offensive attack. Notably, five other Hawaii players reached double-digit scoring, underscoring the team’s depth and efficiency.

Hawaii dominated both inside the paint and beyond the arc, scoring 40 points in the paint with a high shooting percentage on layups (14-for-18). The Rainbow Warriors also hit a season-high 13 three-pointers, shooting 9-for-22 from downtown. The team shared the ball effectively, recording 25 assists on 35 made baskets.

The defense held Hawaii Hilo to their lowest output this season and forced only six turnovers, maintaining control throughout the game. The Vulcans, a Division II team, struggled offensively, missing all five first-half three-point attempts.

Hawaii’s reserves contributed significantly, helping build a 48-24 halftime lead. Isaac Finlinson scored 11 points coming off the bench, and Gytis Nemeiksa added seven in the first half. The Rainbow Warriors’ bench outperformed Hawaii Hilo’s backups with an 18-8 scoring edge.

Hunter Erickson was among the sharpshooters, sinking three of the team’s nine early three-pointers. The consistent shooting from beyond the arc helped Hawaii establish separation quickly and maintain momentum.

Hawaii’s next contest is against UTEP on Saturday, marking the last game before an 18-day break. The Rainbow Warriors will return to action against Riverside on January 1.

This decisive victory highlights Hawaii men’s basketball’s strength, teamwork, and efficient execution during a favorable schedule stretch. Coach Eran Ganot has witnessed a promising start, with his team showing resilience and skill on both ends of the court.
