A fatal four-vehicle collision occurred early Saturday morning on the Inner Loop of the Baltimore Beltway at Perring Parkway in Parkville, Maryland. Maryland State Police reported the incident happened just after 8 a.m., involving multiple cars and resulting in one confirmed death.

James Beckham, 31, from Essex and an active Baltimore Police Department officer, was identified as the driver who died following the crash. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Another driver involved was also hospitalized with injuries, while two other drivers and a passenger escaped unscathed.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Officer Beckham’s vehicle struck the corner of another car, triggering a chain reaction involving two additional vehicles.
