The renowned actress Vera Alentova passed away at the age of 83, according to an announcement from the Pushkin Theater. The theater expressed deep sorrow, highlighting that Alentova had dedicated 60 years of her life to their stage.
Reports indicate that Alentova fell ill at the Mayakovsky Theater during a memorial event for actor Anatoly Lobotsky, who passed away earlier in December. Emergency medical personnel were called, and despite resuscitation efforts, she could not be saved.
Vera Alentova’s career spanned decades in Soviet and Russian cinema. She is famously remembered for her role as Katerina Tikhomirova in the film “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears,” directed by Vladimir Menshov, which won an Academy Award in 1981.
