A man accused of shooting a woman and abducting two children has been returned to Upstate South Carolina to face legal proceedings. Juan Carlos Morales, 30, is scheduled to appear in bond court on charges that include attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred early in the morning at a Rodeway Inn located on New Cut Road. Morales allegedly shot a woman in the head before taking two children, aged 4 and 6, prompting officials to issue an AMBER Alert.
Surveillance from FLOCK cameras helped law enforcement track Morales’ vehicle to Towns County, Georgia. Deputies there took Morales into custody and confirmed that the two children were found safe at the time of his arrest.
