Nine teachers from Bangka Selatan participated in a specialized training program for using Smart TV or Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) technology. This step aims to prepare educators to face the technological transformation in the education sector.
These teachers were selected from several schools and received official invitations to attend the training in Jakarta. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education facilitated this initiative for information and communication technology teachers.
Purpose and Implementation of the Training
According to the Head of the Bangka Selatan Education and Culture Department, Anshori, the nine teachers are now equipped to integrate digital-based teaching methods in the classroom. The training covered both technical operation and practical strategies for embedding technology in daily lessons.
Upon returning, these teachers will act as internal instructors within their respective schools. They will lead the way in helping colleagues adopt digital teaching tools efficiently.
Role as Agents of Change
Each trained teacher is responsible for mentoring other educators at their school. This ensures that the Smart TVs will not be left unused but become integral teaching tools.
Anshori emphasized, “Every teacher sent to Jakarta will serve as an instructor to other teachers in each school for using the IFP.” This approach guarantees the effective dissemination of skills among the broader teaching community.
Government Support and Device Allocation
The government has verified all recipient data and is currently distributing the devices in phases. Bangka Selatan will receive a total of 135 IFP units, which will be delivered to 39 junior high schools and 96 elementary schools, both public and private.
Devices are provided directly by the supplier appointed by the Ministry. All eligible schools must accept the equipment, unless they already possess similar technology.
The Ministry also offers additional assistance. Schools lacking electricity or internet connectivity will receive support to enable optimal device functionality on campus.
Expected Impact on the Educational Environment
This allocation is part of the government’s commitment to drive the digital transformation of the learning process. The aim is to accelerate digital teaching, as mandated by national leadership.
The teachers returning from Jakarta are expected to be catalysts for change in the classroom. They carry new enthusiasm and expertise to create interactive, technology-driven learning environments for students.
This program highlights the importance of human resources in educational innovation. “Technology will not be useful without teachers who are able to make the most of it,” Anshori stressed.
The integration of Smart TV technology, combined with teacher training and government support, reflects Bangka Selatan’s ongoing efforts to modernize education and improve learning outcomes for every student.
