A phone that changes its back color with temperature is not the kind of detail that usually shows up in the affordable segment, but that is exactly one of the things that makes the Infinix HOT 70 stand out in Indonesia. The Thermo Orange variant is designed to shift from a darker orange tone in cold conditions to a brighter orange when the temperature rises.
That visual twist sits on top of a broader package aimed at everyday users who want practical features without moving far from the Rp 2 million price range. Infinix pairs the unusual finish with a slim body, a large battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and a set of hardware and software features that make the HOT 70 more ambitious than many entry-level phones.
A design built to catch attention
Infinix gives the HOT 70 a 7.49 mm body and a weight of around 195 grams. The combination keeps the phone relatively slim in hand, even though it still carries a large battery inside.
The company also offers six color options for the device: Dive Blue, Night Pulse, Silver Dancer, Green Texture, Quiet Violet, and Thermo Orange. Infinix describes the phone’s exterior as Dynamic Shine Design with a Velvet-Smooth Finish, while the camera module includes Active Halo Lightning that can light up for notifications.
The Thermo Orange model is the most distinctive of the group because it uses thermochromic ink on the rear panel. When the phone feels cold, the color appears deeper and darker, then shifts to a brighter orange as temperatures rise.
Protection and display for daily use
Beyond appearance, the HOT 70 also brings IP65 certification for resistance to dust and water splashes. It additionally carries SGS-5 Star certification for impact resistance, which adds another layer of reassurance for everyday handling.
On the front, Infinix uses a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution of 1,576 x 720 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which should make scrolling and general navigation feel smoother.
The display uses a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. That selfie camera is an 8MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture, while the rear camera setup is led by a 50MP main camera with an f/1.86 aperture.
Performance, memory, and battery
Under the hood, the HOT 70 relies on MediaTek’s Helio G100 Ultimate. Infinix pairs it with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage on selected configurations.
For Indonesia, the phone arrives in four memory variants: 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB, and 8GB/128GB. That range gives buyers some flexibility depending on whether they prioritize storage or memory capacity.
Battery life is another major selling point. The HOT 70 comes with a 6,000mAh battery, supported by 45W fast charging and 10W reverse wired charging.
The reverse wired charging feature lets the phone share power through a cable. That makes the device useful not only for endurance, but also for emergency power sharing when needed.
Connectivity, software, and pricing
For security, Infinix places the fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone. The device also includes an IR Blaster, NFC, and a One-Tap button on the left side that works as a shortcut to AI-related features.
Software duties are handled by XOS 16 based on Android 16. Infinix says the HOT 70 will receive three XOS version updates and five years of security updates.
The phone is already available through official sales channels in Indonesia. Pricing starts at Rp 2.099.000 for the 4GB/128GB model, followed by Rp 2.599.000 for 6GB/128GB, Rp 3.099.000 for 8GB/128GB, and Rp 3.299.000 for 6GB/256GB.
With its temperature-reactive back cover, 120Hz display, 50MP main camera, 6,000mAh battery, and IP65 protection, the Infinix HOT 70 positions itself as a notable option in Indonesia’s affordable smartphone segment. The mix of design choices and memory options also gives it a broader appeal across different types of users.
