Citizen has added another striking entry to its Eco-Drive One line with the AR5065-54W, a limited-edition dress watch that pairs extreme thinness with a bold green dial. The model has now reached the U.S. market after its earlier introduction in Japan at the end of May.
What sets this watch apart is not only the color choice, but also how far Citizen pushed the construction. The stainless steel case measures just 3.88 mm thick, placing it among the thinnest solar-powered watches currently available.
Designed for a more dramatic dress watch look
The AR5065-54W moves away from the understated tone often associated with classic dress watches. Its emerald green dial uses a brushed texture around the outer section, while the center is finished in deep black to add visual depth.
Rose gold accents appear on the hands, hour markers, inner ring, and crown. That combination gives the watch a refined appearance while keeping the overall look modern and slightly technical.
Citizen also paid close attention to finishing across the case and bracelet. Both surfaces use a hairline-brushed treatment, while the bezel bevel is polished with Zaratsu finishing to create a more reflective contrast.
Thin case, light weight, and solar-powered movement
The key engineering story remains the movement inside. Citizen uses the Eco-Drive 8826, a 1.0 mm-thick caliber powered by light, which removes the need for routine battery replacement.
The movement is rated for an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. Together with the slim profile, that specification gives the AR5065-54W a balance of precision and efficiency that matches its premium positioning.
The watch weighs 96 grams and comes in a 38 mm case size. Those dimensions are intended to keep it wearable while preserving the very slim silhouette that defines the model.
Built with a case structure made for extreme thinness
Citizen uses a two-piece case design without a traditional case back to achieve the ultra-thin build. Even with that approach, the watch still offers 5 ATM, or 50 meters, of water resistance.
The back of the case is shaped to follow the wrist more closely, which helps improve comfort during wear. That detail shows that the design focus extends beyond thickness alone.
Both the case and bracelet are made from stainless steel with Duratect DLC coating. On top, Citizen uses sapphire crystal with Clarity Coating to keep the dial clear and easy to read.
Limited production and premium pricing
The Eco-Drive One AR5065-54W is limited to just 250 units worldwide. In the U.S., Citizen is selling it for $3,395 through its official online store.
The case back includes a numbered engraving that marks its limited-edition status. That detail reinforces its position as a collector-focused piece rather than an ordinary everyday watch.
Overall, the AR5065-54W shows how Citizen combines solar technology, extreme thinness, and high-end finishing in one package. For buyers looking for a dress watch that stands out without losing its technical appeal, the emerald dial and 3.88 mm profile are the main attractions.
