Honor is reportedly testing a new smartphone that pushes two headline features to an extreme level: a peak brightness of 10,000 nits and a 10,000 mAh battery. If the leak proves accurate, the device could stand out even in a crowded flagship market.

The combination is unusual because it targets both visibility and endurance at once. For many users, that could mean a screen that remains easier to read in bright outdoor conditions and a battery built for much longer use between charges.

Brightness claims that go far beyond current flagships

The information comes from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, who said Honor wants to push smartphone hardware further, especially in display and battery performance. The reported 10,000-nit peak brightness would place the device far above most premium phones on sale today.

For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to reach around 2,600 nits, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is reported at roughly 3,000 nits. Even Honor Magic 8 Pro, which is already considered very bright, is said to reach about 6,000 nits.

A battery capacity that keeps Honor’s identity intact

Honor has already shown a clear interest in large batteries through earlier models in China. The Honor Win and Honor Win RT both arrived with 10,000 mAh batteries and 6,000-nit displays.

After that, the Honor Win Turbo was said to reach 8,000 nits. A new model with a 10,000 mAh battery and 10,000-nit display would continue that direction, making battery life and screen brightness the company’s two strongest calling cards.

That kind of battery capacity is especially appealing for people who move between work, gaming, content creation, and media consumption. It reduces dependence on chargers and fits use cases that demand long hours away from a power source.

What 10,000 nits actually means in practice

Peak brightness does not describe how bright a screen is all the time. It refers to a maximum level reached only under specific conditions and on certain parts of the panel.

Even so, the number matters because it signals how far Honor is willing to push display performance. Higher brightness can improve visibility outdoors, especially under strong sunlight.

The reported device suggests Honor is continuing to separate itself from rivals by focusing not only on core performance, but also on practical features that affect daily use. If the leak is accurate, the phone would arrive as one of the most extreme hardware packages in its class.
