Honda PCX 160 Gets a More Premium Look, NMAX Turbo Now Has a Reason to Watch Closely

Honda has refreshed the PCX 160 for the 2026 model year with a sharper focus on premium appeal. Rather than a full redesign, the update centers on styling, new color options, and connected technology that strengthen its position in the crowded premium scooter segment.

The move matters because the fight in Indonesia’s premium scooter market remains intense. Against rivals such as Yamaha NMAX Turbo, Honda is betting that a more elegant look and a broader feature spread will keep the PCX 160 highly competitive.

Price points cover a wide range of buyers

The 2026 Honda PCX 160 starts at Rp34.350.000 on the road Jakarta for the CBS variant. The ABS version is priced at Rp37.951.000, while the top-spec Honda RoadSync trim is listed at Rp40.951.000.

That pricing structure gives buyers several entry points depending on their needs. Riders can choose the base CBS trim, step up to ABS for added safety equipment, or move to RoadSync for a more connected riding experience.

Visual changes lead the update

The most noticeable changes are on the outside, where Honda introduces Exceptional Matte Silver and Exceptional Matte White for the CBS variant. A new emblem also helps reinforce the model’s more upscale appearance.

Even without major bodywork changes, the PCX 160 still carries the premium character that has long defined the model. Honda appears to be relying on careful refinements rather than a complete overhaul to keep the scooter familiar but more polished.

Engine stays the same, and efficiency remains a selling point

Under the bodywork, the PCX 160 continues to use a 156.9 cc liquid-cooled eSP+ four-valve engine. The setup produces a maximum output of 11.8 kW, equivalent to 16 PS, at 8,500 rpm.

Peak torque is rated at 14.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm, which supports responsive everyday acceleration. Honda also claims fuel consumption of up to 42.2 kilometers per liter under specific test conditions, a figure that remains one of the model’s key strengths.

Features are split by variant

The ABS variant adds an anti-lock braking system designed to help prevent wheel lock during sudden braking. That makes it especially relevant for wet or slippery roads, where control and safety become more important.

The range-topping Honda RoadSync trim adds smartphone connectivity, giving the scooter a more modern digital layer. This positions the PCX 160 closer to the expectations of riders who want premium convenience alongside daily practicality.

Built to stay relevant in a tough segment

With the 2026 update, Honda is clearly aiming to protect the PCX 160’s place in the premium scooter class. Its formula remains familiar: smooth engine character, efficient fuel use, and a design that now looks more exclusive.

That combination is meant to hold attention in a segment where styling, technology, performance, and comfort all matter. For buyers comparing options, the PCX 160 now offers a cleaner premium image from Rp34.350.000 to Rp40.951.000, depending on the variant chosen.
