HONOR has quietly introduced the X70 Pro Max in China, and the phone’s biggest statement is hard to miss. Its 8560 mAh battery, 90 W charging support, and heavy-duty body protection place it far outside the usual expectations for a mainstream smartphone.
The model arrives as part of the HONOR X70 series, which first appeared in mid-2025. Rather than chasing a flashy design-first pitch, HONOR is leaning on endurance, resilience, and a large display that still fits modern daily use.
Battery life is the headline
The 8560 mAh battery is the main attraction on the HONOR X70 Pro Max. HONOR says the phone can last up to 14 hours of gaming, 15 hours of video calls, or 27 hours of short-video playback.
When the battery does run low, the device supports 90 W fast charging. HONOR also says the battery is designed to remain durable for up to 6 years, positioning the phone as a long-term device rather than a short upgrade cycle.
Built for rough conditions
Durability is the other major selling point. The HONOR X70 Pro Max carries a five-star SGS certification and is claimed to survive a drop from 2.5 meters onto a hard surface.
It also brings dust and water protection ratings of IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. In practical terms, that means the phone is protected from dust, can be submerged up to 6 meters, can handle strong water jets, and remains protected even when exposed to water as hot as 85 degrees Celsius.
A large AMOLED display with a slim frame
On the front, HONOR uses a 6.79-inch display with a very thin 1.3 mm bezel. That narrow frame helps the phone look broader and more modern from the front.
The panel is AMOLED with a 1200 x 2640 pixel resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 6000 nits, while the 8 MP f/2.0 front camera sits in a small hole at the top center of the screen.
Mid-range performance and generous storage
Under the hood, the HONOR X70 Pro Max runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. Qualcomm launched the 4 nm mid-range chipset in February 2025.
HONOR offers only one RAM option, 8 GB, but buyers can choose between 256 GB and 512 GB of internal storage. That combination should suit users who want plenty of room without moving into a higher price class.
Camera, features, and colors
At the rear, HONOR places a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera inside a circular module labeled Matrix AI Vision Camera. An LED light is also built into the same area to help in darker shooting conditions.
The phone includes stereo speakers, NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, an infrared transmitter, a USB Type-C port, and Harmony OS 10 based on Android 16. Color options include phantom purple, sunburst gold, bamboo green, and phantom night black.
Price and availability
In China, the HONOR X70 Pro Max is sold in two variants. The 8/256GB model is priced at 1.999 yuan, or around Rp5,2 juta, while the 8/512GB version costs 2.399 yuan, or around Rp6,2 juta.
There is still no information about availability outside China, including Indonesia. Even so, the combination of a giant battery, strong body protection, and a large display makes the HONOR X70 Pro Max one of the more distinctive phones in its class.
