Samsung’s Next 3 Foldables Near Indonesia, New Names May Be on the Way

Samsung appears to be getting closer to bringing its next generation of foldable phones to Indonesia. Three Samsung devices have surfaced in the Ministry of Industry’s TKDN certification database, a sign that the company is preparing a launch in the local market.

The three model numbers listed are SM-F776B, SM-F976B, and SM-F971B. Each of them has already passed the minimum 35 percent TKDN requirement, with scores above that threshold, according to KompasTekno’s monitoring of the database.

Three models, three different levels

The certification details show that Samsung SM-F776B carries a TKDN score of 39.03 percent. The other two models, SM-F976B and SM-F971B, each recorded 36.10 percent.

Model Number TKDN Score
SM-F776B 39.03 percent
SM-F976B 36.10 percent
SM-F971B 36.10 percent

Those model numbers are not new to the leak cycle. Based on online reports, the trio is widely believed to be Samsung’s next foldable lineup, including the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Samsung has not appeared to take the next step in the Postel certification database at this stage. Even so, the TKDN listing is usually a strong early signal that a device is moving toward an official release in Indonesia.

A possible new naming strategy for Galaxy Z Fold

One of the most interesting details in the current leaks is the possibility that Samsung may change how it names its Fold line. For several years, the company has kept a single Galaxy Z Fold model as its premium book-style foldable.

Ice Universe, a leaker cited in the report, says Samsung may expand the Fold family into two separate models. Under that scenario, the device long rumored as Galaxy Z Fold Wide could be sold as Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the regular successor to Galaxy Z Fold 7 may arrive as Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

If accurate, this would be the first time Samsung offers two Galaxy Z Fold models in the same generation with clearly different positions in the lineup. The Ultra model is expected to sit at the top as the most premium option.

What may separate the Ultra from the Wide version

Rumors suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could receive a 5,000 mAh battery, matching the capacity associated with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That would be a step up from the 4,400 mAh battery used in Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The device is also said to bring a more capable camera system, although the exact hardware has not yet been revealed. Some reports indicate it may continue to use the 200 MP camera seen on Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, meanwhile, is rumored to be the more unusual model in the pair. It is said to use a 4:3 display ratio when opened, making it feel more like a compact tablet than previous Fold generations.

That approach would mark a clear departure from earlier Galaxy Z Fold devices released between 2019 and 2025, which used a shape closer to a square. The wider layout is expected to be more comfortable for reading, multitasking, and watching video.

Render images and dummy photos that have circulated online also suggest the Fold 8 Wide may have only two rear cameras, unlike the more advanced camera setup expected on the Ultra model. Its main display is reportedly around 7.6 inches, while the outer screen is said to be about 5.4 inches.

Possible launch window

According to the rumor, Samsung could unveil the three foldables at its second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. The event is said to be scheduled for 22 July 2026 in London, England.

In addition to the new foldables, Samsung is also expected to show the next Galaxy Watch generation and several other Galaxy ecosystem products. The devices are rumored to run One UI 9 based on Android 17, with improvements aimed at multitasking and AI features.

For now, all of these details remain unconfirmed. Samsung has not officially disclosed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, or Galaxy Z Flip 8, but the TKDN appearance suggests the launch process may already be well underway for Indonesia.
