Samsung has opened Galaxy XR pre-orders in the UK, bringing the headset to a third market after its earlier launch in South Korea and the United States. The move comes with a cluster of promotions that make the premium device more approachable for early buyers.
At £1,699, Galaxy XR enters the UK market as a high-end mixed reality headset, with deliveries scheduled to begin on 8 July. For now, Samsung is offering only one finish for this release: Silver Shadow.
Launch promotions aim to soften the entry price
Samsung’s UK online store is backing the headset with several purchase incentives. Buyers can get 30% off a Travel Case or Galaxy XR Controllers when they are added with the headset, and the offer runs until 30 September.
There is also a short-term payment discount for shoppers using PayPal. Samsung says customers can save £100 on Galaxy XR with the code PAYPALXR until 7 July.
Additional bundling deals are also available. Customers purchasing Galaxy XR alongside a Galaxy smartphone receive 10% off the headset, while buyers who add a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds get 10% off those accessories as well.
What Galaxy XR brings to the table
Galaxy XR is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 and runs on the new Android XR operating system. It uses two Micro-OLED displays, each with a resolution of 3,552 x 3,840 per eye.
The headset also includes multiple cameras for full-colour passthrough, hand tracking, and eye tracking. Samsung equips it with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
To keep weight off the head, the battery sits in a separate pack connected by cable. Samsung says that pack provides around two hours of typical use per charge.
UK availability marks a wider push
The UK launch broadens Galaxy XR’s reach after its initial exclusivity in South Korea and the US. With premium hardware, a premium price, and several launch discounts layered on top, Samsung is clearly targeting buyers who want an early entry into high-end XR.
The combination of accessory savings, payment-based discounts, and bundle offers makes the pre-order window the most aggressive sales push since Galaxy XR first appeared. The Silver Shadow option remains limited, but the launch package gives UK buyers multiple ways to reduce the effective upfront cost.
