Seiko has expanded the Presage Classic Series with four new models built around a silk-inspired theme, and one of them stands out immediately for its limited run. The collection will launch in July 2026 and will be sold only through Seiko Global Brand Core Shops.
The headline model is the limited HCC008, which is capped at 2,000 units worldwide. Seiko will reserve 500 of those pieces for the Japanese market, where the watch is also identified as HCC010J.
A more restrained take on Japanese craftsmanship
Rather than relying on one shared dial design, Seiko gave the three main models distinct visual identities drawn from Japanese silk culture. HCC001J, called “Shironeri,” uses a white dial inspired by fine silk thread.
HCC002J goes in a different direction with a pale bamboo-green dial that references traditional kimono dye colors. HCC003J completes the trio with a soft pink dial inspired by cherry blossoms.
That approach gives each watch a different mood while keeping the collection unified through the same classic Presage framework. It also reinforces the brand’s long-running effort to link mechanical watches with Japanese design traditions.
Shared case, movement, and durability across the line
All four models use the same case dimensions, measuring 38.0 mm in diameter, 12.9 mm in thickness, and 43.8 mm lug-to-lug. Seiko also uses stainless steel with Diashield coating, keeping the construction consistent across the range.
Inside, the watches are powered by the automatic Caliber 6R51 with manual winding. The movement offers a 72-hour power reserve, 24 jewels, and an accuracy rating of +25/-15 seconds per day.
Each model is fitted with a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. The caseback is transparent with a screw-type construction, and water resistance is rated at 10 bar.
Bracelet, strap, and weight differences
HCC001J and HCC002J are paired with stainless steel bracelets and a push-button double-fold clasp. Both weigh 135 grams, giving them the most substantial feel in the lineup.
HCC003J takes a lighter route with a dark brown leather strap and a push-button three-fold clasp. At 78 grams, it is the lightest model among the four.
Pricing and market position
Seiko has set HCC001J and HCC002J at ¥132,000 each, while HCC003J is priced slightly lower at ¥129,800. The company has not yet announced the price for HCC008.
With its silk-themed dials, mechanical movement, and limited-edition positioning, the new Presage lineup is aimed at buyers looking for classic styling with a distinctly Japanese narrative. The limited model is likely to draw the most attention, but the three regular editions also offer clear visual variety for different tastes.
