Mudang: Two Hearts Faces Collapse as EVRStudio’s Bankruptcy Shuts the Door

One of South Korea’s most promising stealth-action projects now appears to be at risk of disappearing before it ever reaches players. Mudang: Two Hearts, the game often compared with Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid, is now tied to the reported bankruptcy of its developer, EVRStudio.

The situation matters because the project had already built a rare kind of attention for a new stealth game. Its trailers showed smooth gunfights, detailed environments, and a cinematic presentation that helped position it as a serious contender in a genre that has seen few major releases in recent years.

A project that looked further along than most

Mudang: Two Hearts had been slated for a 2026 release window, and the footage shown publicly suggested a game that was well beyond an early concept stage. Several gameplay videos uploaded to YouTube focused on its visuals, sound, combat, and animation, reinforcing the impression that the project was progressing in a more advanced form than many similarly ambitious titles.

One of the clearest examples came from the Voyagers Revenge channel, which posted a long-form gameplay video with a polished presentation. For many observers, that kind of material signaled a project that looked more complete than the usual short teasers and concept clips seen from struggling games.

Financial pressure inside EVRStudio

The optimism around the game now clashes with EVRStudio’s financial condition. South Korean media previously reported that the studio was under financial strain and had begun reducing staff as investor interest in metaverse-themed projects weakened.

Before turning its attention more fully to game development, EVRStudio was known for virtual reality and commercial metaverse experiences. That business line reportedly failed to provide long-term stability after market conditions shifted, adding to the company’s pressure.

Reports shared through the game’s official Reddit page pointed to documents indicating that EVRStudio has entered bankruptcy proceedings in South Korea. If accurate, that development places the future of Mudang: Two Hearts in serious doubt.

What the community is seeing now

In the Mudang_Two_Hearts community, users also reported that the developer’s official Discord had been removed. That move has fueled concern that the game’s pages on Xbox Marketplace and Steam could also disappear soon.

The combination of a possible bankruptcy filing, a deleted community channel, and growing uncertainty around distribution storefronts leaves the project in a fragile state. Unless a new investor steps in, Mudang: Two Hearts may become another ambitious stealth-action title that never gets the chance to reach release.
