Samsung’s next foldables are beginning to look less like a simple refresh and more like a carefully segmented lineup. The latest leak points to a deliberate color strategy that gives the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra distinct visual identities.
That approach matters because Samsung is also reportedly preparing a more complicated product structure than before. With one clamshell model and two book-style foldables in the mix, the color choices may become one of the easiest ways for buyers to tell them apart.
Exclusive colors define each model
According to Digital Citizen, as cited by 9to5Google, Samsung is expected to offer four colors for each model. Two base shades appear to be shared across the lineup, while two additional colors are being kept exclusive to individual devices.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to come in Cream, Graphite, Lavender, and Pistachio. That combination gives the device a brighter and more casual feel than the other foldable expected in the lineup.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is reportedly listed in Cream, Graphite, Green Shadow, and Violet Shadow. Its palette leans more restrained, with darker and more muted tones that fit a premium positioning.
Cream and Graphite would therefore act as the common thread across the family. Lavender and Pistachio are reserved for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, while Green Shadow and Violet Shadow are exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
A lineup that may be confusing at first glance
The naming structure is also drawing attention. Samsung’s next foldable family is said to include three devices, led by the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and two book-style models.
One of the book-style models is expected to carry the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra name, while the larger new device would be sold simply as the Galaxy Z Fold 8. That is a reversal from what many buyers might expect, especially since “Ultra” usually suggests the biggest or most advanced version.
Because of that, the leaked color list becomes more than a style detail. It may help signal how Samsung wants each model to be recognized before the specifications even enter the conversation.
Storage options add another layer
The same leak also points to different storage tiers across the lineup. The two book-style devices are said to be available with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options.
Galaxy Z Flip 8, by contrast, is expected to come with 256GB and 512GB only. It would not receive the 1TB option reportedly planned for the larger foldables.
That difference reinforces Samsung’s segmentation strategy. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra appear aimed at users who want larger storage capacity, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 stays positioned as the more compact clamshell option.
Unpacked is getting closer
The timing of the leak also adds to the anticipation around Samsung Unpacked. Rumors continue to point to an event date of July 22, which would place the official reveal less than a week away if accurate.
As the launch window nears, details like color and storage are becoming more important for readers trying to understand how Samsung plans to separate the new models. The mix of shared shades, exclusive tones, and different storage tiers suggests a lineup built to be recognizable at a glance.
For now, though, all of these details remain in the realm of leaks and rumors until Samsung confirms them publicly. What is already clear is that the company appears ready to give each foldable its own identity, not just through hardware, but through the way it looks and the options it offers.
