Vivo X Fold 6 Packs 200MP Camera and 7,000mAh Battery, Rivals Face Pressure

Vivo has taken a decisive step in the foldable phone market with the launch of the X Fold 6 in China. The device stands out for two specifications that are still rare in this category: a 200MP main camera and a 7,000mAh battery.

That combination immediately positions the X Fold 6 as more than a style-focused foldable. It is being pushed as a device that can handle photography, long battery life, and heavy productivity use without giving up the premium foldable format.

Camera hardware built for flexibility

The most attention-grabbing part of the X Fold 6 is its imaging system. Vivo uses a Samsung HPB 200MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization to help deliver steadier shots.

It is paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 602 periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto unit also uses VCS technology and OIS, giving the phone a stronger base for long-range shooting.

For users who want even more zoom reach, Vivo also supports the vivo Zeiss Teleconverter G2 accessory. The add-on broadens the phone’s options for telephoto photography on a foldable device.

Selfie and video calling needs are handled by two 20MP front cameras. One is placed on the inner display and the other on the outer screen, so users can keep shooting whether the phone is open or closed.

Large displays on both sides

The foldable AMOLED main display measures 8.02 inches and carries a resolution of 2504 x 2312 pixels. It supports an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, which should help balance smoothness and power efficiency.

Vivo protects the inner panel with Ultra Thin Glass, a common material in foldables that helps maintain a practical touch experience while supporting the flexible structure.

When folded, the X Fold 6 switches to a 6.53-inch outer screen with a resolution of 2528 x 1120 pixels. This panel also supports an adaptive 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate.

The outer display gets second-generation Armour Glass for added resistance against scratches and impacts. That makes the cover screen better suited for everyday use, especially since it is the part users will touch most often.

First Vivo foldable with a MediaTek chipset

Under the hood, the X Fold 6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition. It is the first foldable in Vivo’s lineup to use a MediaTek chipset, marking a notable change for the company’s foldable strategy.

Vivo pairs the chip with its V3+ imaging chip to reinforce photo and video processing. The phone runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16, giving it a software setup aimed at multitasking and premium use.

Memory and storage options also reflect that positioning. The device comes with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 internal storage for faster system response and file handling.

A battery size that stands out in this class

Battery life is one of the X Fold 6’s clearest advantages. Vivo fits the phone with a Blue Ocean 7,000mAh battery using third-generation solid-state battery technology.

That capacity is unusually large for a foldable phone, and it is backed by 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. The setup is intended to make the large battery practical for daily use rather than simply impressive on paper.

The battery focus adds a different angle to a market where thinness often gets more attention than endurance. For users who rely on a foldable for work and entertainment, the X Fold 6 is built to reduce charging anxiety.
