Apple is reportedly investigating a major data leak tied to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max after sensitive internal documents surfaced in public digital spaces. The leak has raised fresh concerns about how securely future device information is protected across the company’s manufacturing chain.
The incident emerged after a cyberattack on Tata Electronics, one of Apple’s key manufacturing partners in India. According to Macrumors, the material that spread online included internal Apple documents, supplier lists, component details, and technical images that were later shared on the dark web.
What was exposed
The leaked material is said to include six main files covering hundreds of device components. Those documents reportedly reveal logic board chip details, battery specifications, camera module information, and internal component designs for the phone.
Images that circulated alongside the files also showed a gray prototype unit with a candybar design and three rear cameras. The device was reportedly undergoing impact-resistance testing, suggesting the leak involved highly technical production material rather than general planning notes.
