Red Magic has officially introduced its latest gaming tablet in China, and the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro arrives with a clear message: this device is built for sustained performance. It combines a flagship-class chipset, a 185 Hz display, and an unusually advanced cooling system aimed at demanding games.
The tablet also leans heavily on AI-powered features for both gaming and productivity. According to tekno.kompas.com, the device is positioned not only as a gaming machine, but also as a tablet that can handle editing, recording, and multitasking with greater efficiency.
Flagship power with Red Magic’s own gaming tuning
At its core, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 built on a 3 nm process. Red Magic pairs it with its own RedCore R4 gaming chip and the Energy Cube 3.0 optimization engine.
Red Magic says the combination is designed to improve graphics processing, optimize memory use, and automatically manage CPU and GPU allocation based on the workload while gaming.
Display built for very high frame rates
The Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro uses a 9.06-inch OLED display with 2.4K resolution and an adaptive refresh rate that ranges from 60 Hz to 185 Hz. It also supports frame interpolation up to 144 fps in more than 200 compatible games.
The panel is an X10 OLED unit with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and 1,100 nits when the entire screen shows white content. For touch response, the tablet uses a Synaptics S3930 controller with a 300 Hz touch sampling rate, instant touch response up to 2,000 Hz, and touch latency of just 1 millisecond.
| Display Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Panel Size | 9.06 inches |
| Resolution | 2.4K |
| Refresh Rate | 60 Hz to 185 Hz |
| Peak Brightness | 1,600 nits |
| Touch Sampling Rate | 300 Hz |
The device also includes a wet-touch algorithm to keep the screen responsive even when it is slightly wet. This is a practical addition for users who play for long sessions or in less controlled conditions.
Transparent design and active liquid cooling
Red Magic keeps its transparent design language on the tablet, especially around the area housing the cooling system. The back also carries 11 customizable RGB LEDs alongside the camera module, which shares the same design style.
The most notable hardware feature is its active liquid cooling system, which Red Magic says is the first of its kind in the gaming tablet industry. It circulates fluorinated coolant through a closed pipe using a micro pump, then combines that setup with Liquid Metal 3.0, a large vapor chamber, and multiple heat-conducting layers to reduce temperature under heavy loads.
Battery, charging, audio, and software
Power comes from an 8,300 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The tablet also supports reverse charging and has two USB-C ports, making it easier to charge while gaming in landscape mode.
Both ports support bypass charging, which sends power directly to the system without passing through the battery. Audio is handled by stereo 1227 speakers with N’Bass technology for stronger bass output.
| Battery and I/O | Specification |
|---|---|
| Battery Capacity | 8,300 mAh |
| Fast Charging | 80W |
| USB-C Ports | 2 |
| Special Charging Support | Reverse charging and bypass charging |
The tablet runs Red Magic OS 11.5 with MORA AI Agent 2.0. The AI features can optimize game performance, support productivity, edit video, record gameplay, create replays, and provide an e-ink-style reading mode to reduce eye strain.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, face unlock, USB 3.2 Gen 2, call and message syncing across devices, and external display output up to 4K resolution at 144 Hz.
