The company is scheduled to hold Galaxy Unpacked in London, England, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. WIB. Samsung has not confirmed the product names, final designs, or specifications that will be announced at the event.
A wider screen format
The rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is said to have an approximately 7.6-inch main screen and a roughly 5.4-inch cover screen. A leak roundup published by tekno.kompas.com says the unfolded display may use a 4:3 aspect ratio.
A squarer display could provide a more practical area for reading documents and using several applications at once. It could also be better suited to video viewing than a taller inner screen format.
Renders and dummy images circulating ahead of the event also suggest that the model may have two rear cameras. Samsung has not confirmed whether the wider device will actually use the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide name.

Teasers point to a design shift
Samsung’s promotional teasers have repeatedly shown elongated objects changing into shapes that are shorter and wider. A chocolate bar, photobooth photo, pizza, and Dalgona candy were all used to illustrate the visual transformation.

A separate promotional video tied to Spider-Man: Brand New Day showed Spider-Man seemingly printing a Galaxy Z Flip and another foldable device with a wider-looking body. Another teaser featured BTS member J-Hope tearing a London landmark poster until its proportions changed.
The poster included Galaxy Unpacked imagery and a silhouette of a device with dual rear cameras. Its Big Ben clock was also changed into a Galaxy Watch-style watch face, raising the possibility of a new smartwatch appearance in London.
Ultra and Flip models remain on the watch list
Samsung is also rumoured to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as a successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device may carry a 5,000 mAh battery, up from the 4,400 mAh capacity of its predecessor.
The Ultra model is also expected to receive camera improvements, although full details have not emerged. A 200 MP main camera is rumoured to be retained from the previous generation.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to join the two Fold models as the third foldable device in the line-up. It is described as the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
All three devices are expected to launch with One UI 9 based on Android 17. The anticipated improvements include multitasking features and artificial intelligence capabilities.
