Xiaomi 15 Ultra Pulls Ahead In Display, Memory, And Wireless Charging At A Higher Price

For users looking at a premium phone that can also handle heavy gaming, the Xiaomi 15 series now sits in a much more competitive position. Both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra rely on Snapdragon 8 Elite, which places performance at the center of the lineup rather than making gaming a secondary use case.

That shared foundation matters more than the model gap at first glance. Xiaomi positions the two phones for different buyers through changes in display size, memory configuration, wireless charging speed, and price, while keeping the core performance package strong on both sides.

Snapdragon 8 Elite sets the tone

The biggest reason the Xiaomi 15 series is now seen as a premium gaming option is the chipset. Xiaomi says Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers a 45 percent CPU performance boost and a 44 percent GPU improvement, which helps demanding apps and games run faster.

That kind of power also comes with a focus on efficiency. The idea is not only to push speed, but to keep battery use under control during longer sessions, which is important for users who spend extended time gaming or multitasking.

For competitive players, the Adreno 830 GPU is a key part of the appeal. It supports smoother graphics and more responsive touch behavior, two traits that often matter most in premium gaming phones.

Display size creates the clearest split

The most visible difference between the two models is the screen. Xiaomi 15 Ultra uses a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 3200 x 1440 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and peak brightness up to 3200 nits.

Xiaomi 15 takes a more compact route with a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display and 2670 x 1200 resolution. It still supports adaptive refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+, but the smaller size makes it easier to handle with one hand.

For gaming and media consumption, the Ultra offers a wider and more immersive experience. Xiaomi 15, meanwhile, is aimed at users who want flagship-level performance without moving to a larger device.

Memory options are built for different types of users

The storage and RAM setup also separates the two phones in a practical way. Xiaomi 15 comes with 12 GB of RAM and two storage choices, 256 GB and 512 GB.

That configuration is already enough for large apps, games, photos, and video files. Xiaomi 15 Ultra goes further with 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 512 GB and 1 TB, which gives heavier users more room to keep large files and multiple games installed at once.

This is where the standard Xiaomi 15 looks more balanced for most people. The Ultra is clearly the more spacious option for those who expect to keep the phone in use for a longer period with fewer storage concerns.

Battery endurance stays strong across the lineup

Battery support remains one of the strengths of both models. Xiaomi 15 carries a 5240mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging, while market specifications also list its capacity as 5400 mAh.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra uses a 5410mAh battery and keeps 90W HyperCharge, but raises wireless charging speed to 80W. That difference makes the Ultra more convenient for users who prefer faster cable-free charging.

The key point is that both devices still stay anchored by 90W fast charging. As a result, the series remains relevant for users who want fast performance without spending too much time plugged in.

Pricing defines the premium gap

The official pricing shows how Xiaomi separates the two phones in the market. Xiaomi 15 RAM 12 GB / 256 GB is priced at Rp 11,999,000, while the 12 GB / 512 GB version costs Rp 12,999,000.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at Rp 16,999,000 for the 16 GB / 512 GB variant and reaches Rp 19,999,000 for the 16 GB / 1 TB Silver Chrome model.

That price spread confirms the different roles of each device. Xiaomi 15 serves as the more accessible entry into flagship territory, while Xiaomi 15 Ultra targets users who want the larger screen, more RAM, a bigger storage ceiling, and faster wireless charging in one package.
