Long Battery Life, 120Hz Displays, and Long-Term Updates Put Poco C81 and C81x in Focus

Poco has expanded its entry-level lineup with two new affordable phones, the Poco C81 and Poco C81x. The pair is aimed at users who want a larger display, stronger battery life, and practical daily features without stretching their budget.

That positioning makes both models especially relevant for students, first-time smartphone buyers, and cost-conscious consumers. In a price segment below Rs 11,000, Poco is clearly focusing on endurance and everyday comfort rather than chasing high-end performance numbers.

Battery life takes the lead

The most prominent difference starts with the battery. The Poco C81 carries a 6300mAh battery, while the Poco C81x comes with a 5200mAh cell.

Poco says the C81 can last up to two days in normal use, while the C81x is rated for around 1.6 days. The C81 also supports 15W charging and 7.5W reverse charging, adding a useful layer of flexibility when another device needs power.

Large screens with 120Hz refresh rate

Both models are built around large displays that suit everyday media use and casual browsing. The Poco C81 uses a 6.9-inch panel, while the C81x slightly reduces the size to 6.88 inches.

Each phone supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature that should make scrolling and menu navigation feel smoother. For activities like reading news, checking social feeds, or switching between apps, that kind of display fluidity can improve the experience even on a budget device.

Hardware aimed at basic daily tasks

Poco equips both phones with octa-core processors, keeping the focus on routine use rather than demanding workloads. The company places these models in the category of phones suited for browsing, communication, online learning, and social media.

That approach matches the broader identity of the C81 series. The priority here is not heavy gaming or peak benchmark performance, but a balanced mix of affordability, battery endurance, and dependable everyday operation.

Cameras and security stay straightforward

On the camera side, both devices feature a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The setup is clearly intended for simple documentation and regular selfies rather than advanced photography.

Security options are handled with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. Together, these features give users two quick ways to access the phone, which matters in an entry-level segment where convenience is part of the appeal.

Software support gives the C81 an edge

The clearest separation between the two phones appears in software support. The Poco C81 receives 4 Android upgrades and 6 years of security updates, while the Poco C81x is set for 2 Android upgrades and 4 years of security updates.

That difference makes the C81 the more future-ready option for buyers planning to keep a phone for longer. Extended update support can also help the device stay secure and relevant over a longer period of use.

Price and availability

The Poco C81x is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB/64GB version. The Poco C81 comes in at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant, making the pricing gap between them relatively small.

Both phones go on sale through Flipkart on 27 April 2026 at 12.00 IST. With large batteries, 120Hz displays, and pricing that stays firmly in entry-level territory, the Poco C81 and Poco C81x offer a practical option for buyers who care most about durability and smooth day-to-day use.
