Deepal L06 Max has taken a new step onto the Beijing Auto Show stage as Changan Automobile expands its smart EV lineup with a sedan aimed at younger drivers. The model is positioned not simply as another electric car, but as a more advanced package that combines LiDAR-based intelligence, long-range efficiency, and a more mature driving setup.
Changan introduced the Deepal L06 Max at the Beijing Auto Show 2026, which opened on April 24, 2026. The launch also underlined the company’s broader product direction, especially as the Deepal family continues to grow alongside models such as S05, S07, and L06 REEV.
A sedan built around smarter driving
The Deepal L06 Max is designed to offer more than basic electric mobility. Changan says its development covers driving performance, driver-assistance systems, cabin quality, battery technology, and cruising range, placing the car in a more comprehensive category within the sedan segment.
One of the key highlights is the LiDAR sensor integrated to support intelligent driving functions. Working with the rest of the vehicle’s assistance setup, the technology is intended to make driving feel safer and more adaptable across different road conditions.
Suspension that adds a different character
Beyond its driver-assistance package, the Deepal L06 Max also stands out with magnetorheological suspension. This type of system is usually associated with higher-end vehicles because it can adjust damping more precisely, and Changan has used it as a major selling point for the model.
The company places strong emphasis on handling, and the suspension is claimed to help the sedan maintain both comfort and control while moving. In CATARC’s moose test, the car recorded 85.6 km/h, a result that reflects solid stability and contributed to its “Handling Car of the Year” recognition from CCTV Auto Gala.
Long range and quick charging
On the energy side, the Deepal L06 Max uses a CATL battery paired with the Golden Shield Battery system. Changan says this technology has already been used in hundreds of thousands of vehicles without any thermal runaway incidents, making safety an important part of the model’s positioning.
Range is another major attraction. The sedan can travel up to 670 km on the CLTC standard, placing it among the more competitive options in the electric sedan field. For daily use and longer trips alike, that figure gives the car a practical advantage in its segment.
Charging is also designed to reduce downtime. A fast-charge session from 30 percent to 80 percent takes around 15 minutes, which helps shorten waiting time when the battery needs to be topped up quickly.
Early market momentum before the debut
Interest in the Deepal L06 Max was already visible before its appearance in Beijing. Deliveries reached more than 5,000 units in March 2026, a figure that reportedly rose sharply from the previous month.
That early sales movement suggests the model has already found traction among buyers looking for a sedan that combines smart features, efficient range, and stronger driving dynamics. It also gives Deepal a stronger platform as competition in the electric sedan market continues to intensify.
Deepal widens its electric strategy
The Beijing showcase was not limited to the L06 Max. Deepal also presented a new L06 REEV variant and an updated S07 equipped with Huawei LiDAR technology, while the S05 remains the brand’s global sales pillar.
At the same time, the brand is preparing the S09 and G318 for family use and off-road-oriented demand, showing that its lineup is being broadened across several segments. Deepal has also been offering purchase incentives, including financing programs with limited-period zero-interest terms, to make advanced electric ownership more accessible.
With LiDAR, magnetorheological suspension, a 670 km CLTC range, and roughly 15 minutes of fast charging from 30 percent to 80 percent, the Deepal L06 Max adds another clear signal of how Changan wants Deepal to move deeper into smart and comfortable electric sedan territory.
