Fenix E08R UE Adds Green Laser, Red Light, and 21 Modes to a Slim EDC Form

Fenix is taking a more distinctive route with the E08R UE, turning a slim EDC flashlight into something that stands out visually as much as it serves daily use. The model keeps the compact formula expected from a carry light, but adds a more expressive design, a USB-C charging system, and a broad 21-mode layout.

That combination places it alongside other slim models in Fenix’s lineup, including the E04R clip flashlight and the E06R. In the US Fenix store, the E08R UE is listed at $110 before tax, which puts it well above the two other slim models in the same family.

A familiar core with a different personality

Under the more eye-catching exterior, the E08R UE still follows a setup that should feel familiar. It uses separate floodlight and spotlight optics, and it can combine them in turbo mode when maximum output is needed.

The light reaches up to 1,600 lumens in turbo mode. Its beam distance is listed at 525 feet, and Fenix says the battery capacity and throw distance match the E06R.

Secondary lights change the character

The clearest shift from the E06R is found in the auxiliary lighting. Fenix replaced the UV light used on the related model with a red light, while also changing the laser from red to green.

That change gives the E08R UE a different practical profile, not just a different look. The red light offers a runtime between 4.5 hours and 40 hours, while Fenix did not list UV runtime figures for the E06R at the time of the announcement.

More visible on the body

Fenix also added illuminated elements to the flashlight body, including a glowing switch and a round glowing detail. Those touches make the E08R UE easier to spot than the E06R.

They also give the light a more playful appearance than many standard EDC flashlights. Even so, the size and overall category remain firmly centered on everyday carry use rather than a larger, more complex duty light.

21 modes and USB-C charging

The headline number here is 21 total modes. That count reflects a flashlight designed to cover a wide range of everyday scenarios instead of focusing on a single type of output.

USB-C charging is part of the package as well, and the battery remains built in. The E08R UE weighs about 4.4 ounces, which is roughly 0.7 ounces more than the E06R.

Fenix has scheduled US shipping to begin on 5 May 2026. Other distributors are expected to follow soon after, which should bring the model to a wider market not long after its initial rollout.
