Sony Alpha 7R VI Lands In Indonesia, 66.8MP Power Meets A Rp 74.999.000 Pro Price

Sony has brought the Alpha 7R VI to Indonesia with a price tag of Rp 74.999.000. The mirrorless full-frame camera is positioned for professional creators who need extreme detail, fast handling, and flexible production in a single body.

The pre-order window runs from 22 May to 22 June 2026 through Sony Official Stores and Sony Authorized Dealers across the country. At this level, Sony is clearly placing the Alpha 7R VI in the premium segment, where image quality and workflow speed matter just as much as feature count.

Ultra-high resolution at the center

The headline specification is its 66.8 MP effective resolution, driven by a back-illuminated fully-stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor. Sony pairs that sensor with the new BIONZ XR2 processor, which serves as the camera’s main processing engine.

That combination is designed to deliver sharp visual detail for both photography and video work. Sony is targeting professionals who often move between different shooting conditions and need a camera that can keep up.

Speed and stability for demanding work

To support that role, the Alpha 7R VI uses 5-axis optical image stabilization with high precision. Sony says it can provide compensation of up to 8.5 stops at the center of the sensor.

The camera also supports blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 fps thanks to the AI processing unit integrated into the BIONZ XR2 chip. For moving subjects, the autofocus system uses Real-time Recognition AF+ and can detect human poses based on body structure with accuracy.

These features are meant to keep the camera responsive in dynamic scenes. That matters for users who need both fast focus and stable results during active production work.

Video features aimed at serious production

Sony is also pushing the Alpha 7R VI as more than a stills-focused body. It can record 8K 30p using 8.2K oversampling, while 4K 60p and 4K 120p are also available without crop.

The company has also built in internal temperature management so 8K recording can continue for up to 120 minutes. That gives the camera a stronger position for production jobs that require long recording sessions.

On the audio side, the launch is accompanied by the XLR-A4 adapter. It supports 32-bit float internal audio recording with up to four channels, which is intended to reduce the risk of sound distortion when capturing loud audio on set.

Battery, body, and handling

The Alpha 7R VI uses the new NP-SA100 battery with a capacity of 2,670 mAh. Sony states that the battery can deliver up to 710 shots on a single charge.

Its body is made from magnesium alloy, a material chosen to keep the camera sturdy while remaining relatively light for field use. That combination fits the camera’s intended role as a professional tool that can travel easily between shoots.

A premium body built for creators who need everything at once

Motoya Itako, President Director of PT Sony Indonesia, said the camera brings together ultra-high resolution, intelligent AI-based autofocus, and more advanced video capability. That positioning reflects Sony’s aim to offer one mirrorless body for both high-resolution stills and flexible video production.

With a 66.8-megapixel sensor, 30 fps burst shooting, 8.5-stop stabilization, and 8K recording support, the Alpha 7R VI enters the market as a serious option for professional use. The open pre-order period now gives buyers a chance to secure the camera through Sony’s official retail and dealer network.
