OPPO has positioned the Reno 12 F 5G as a mid-range phone that tries to look and feel more expensive than its price tag suggests. At Rp3.889.000, it combines a premium-looking design, a bright AMOLED display, practical AI tools, and a battery setup aimed at everyday use.
The model entered the Indonesian market at the end of July 2024. OPPO also offers a higher configuration with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage at Rp4.789.000, while the available color choices are Amber Orange, Olive Green, and Matte Grey.
A design that stands out immediately
One of the most visible elements on the Reno 12 F 5G is the rear camera module, which OPPO calls the Cosmos Ring. The circular layout is inspired by high-end watches and gives the phone a distinct identity in a segment where many devices tend to look similar.
The handset stays relatively slim at 7.69 mm and weighs 187 grams. OPPO also uses faux leather on the back panel, which adds to the premium feel without making the device awkward for daily handling.
Durability is supported by IP64 certification. That level of protection helps the phone cope better with dust and splashes during active use.
Display tuned for everyday visibility
On the front, the Reno 12 F 5G carries a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD Plus resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.
That combination is meant to keep the screen readable and smooth in a range of conditions, including direct sunlight. OPPO adds Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2 protection as an extra layer against scratches and light impacts.
Balanced hardware for routine tasks
Inside, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 built on a 5nm process. OPPO pairs it with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, while internal storage goes up to 512GB using UFS 2.2.
The storage setup is also flexible because the phone includes a dedicated microSD slot. That means users do not need to choose between expanding memory and keeping SIM card usage intact.
Cameras backed by useful AI tools
The rear camera system uses three sensors. The main camera is 50MP with OIS, joined by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.
OPPO complements the hardware with AI features intended to improve results and simplify editing. AI Eraser 2.0 lets users remove unwanted objects from photos quickly, while AI Toolbox includes AI Writer, AI Summary, and AI Speak for daily productivity needs.
That combination makes the Reno 12 F 5G more than just a photography-focused mid-range device. It also tries to serve users who want practical assistance in handling content and simple tasks on the phone.
Battery and charging for long use
Power comes from a 5,000 mAh battery. The phone also supports 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging, which helps reduce downtime when charging time is limited.
OPPO says the battery can last more than a day under normal use. With its premium design, smooth display, efficient chipset, and AI features that are actually easy to use, the Reno 12 F 5G remains a notable option in the mid-range class.
