Realme has expanded its Realme 16 series in India with a device built around endurance, durability, and AI-assisted imaging. The Realme 16T stands out first for its 8,000 mAh battery, which Realme says can deliver nearly three days of use on a single charge.
That large battery is paired with 45W fast charging, making the phone easier to live with despite its high capacity. Realme is clearly aiming at users who want a mid-range 5G phone that prioritizes staying power without dropping the core hardware fundamentals.
A large display to match the big battery
The Realme 16T uses a 6.8-inch flat LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also offers a 1080 x 2460 pixel resolution, 1,200 nits HBM brightness, and up to 2,100 nits peak brightness.
Those display numbers place the phone beyond basic battery-phone territory. Realme appears to be targeting smoother scrolling, casual gaming, and more fluid day-to-day navigation rather than treating the screen as a secondary feature.
Battery features built for long-term use
Beyond the 8,000 mAh cell itself, Realme has added bypass charging and wired reverse charging. The company also says the battery health is designed to last up to seven years.
That combination reinforces the phone’s long-life positioning. Instead of focusing only on capacity, Realme is presenting the 16T as a device intended to remain practical over extended use.
Mid-range hardware and software
Under the hood, the Realme 16T runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset with Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. Memory options include 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, while storage is available in 128 GB and 256 GB variants.
The phone ships with Android 16 and Realme UI 7. The overall package points to stable everyday performance, efficient power use, and casual gaming rather than an attempt to push into flagship territory.
Camera system with AI processing
For imaging, Realme equips the phone with a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera with autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture. A secondary rear camera is also present, and the front camera uses a 16 MP sensor.
Realme adds its LumaColor IMAGE Engine to process photos with AI support. The company says it helps improve skin tones, texture detail, and dynamic range, while features such as RAW HDR, AI Portrait Glow, Studio Light effects, AI Popout Collage, Instant Clip, and rear Selfie Mirror broaden the camera toolkit.
Built to handle more than everyday use
Durability is another key part of the Realme 16T pitch. The device carries an IP69 Pro rating for water and dust resistance, along with military-grade impact protection.
That makes the phone unusually focused for its class, especially when paired with the large battery and AI camera features. Realme is positioning the 16T as a rugged mid-range option rather than a slim design-first handset.
Price and availability in India
In India, the Realme 16T starts at 29,999 rupees for the 6 GB/128 GB model. The 8 GB/128 GB version is priced at 31,999 rupees, while the 8 GB/256 GB variant costs 34,999 rupees.
Realme is also offering an instant discount of up to 3,000 rupees on selected credit cards, plus a limited exchange bonus of up to 7,000 rupees. Color options include Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and Starlight Red, with pre-sale open until May 26 and open sale beginning on May 26 through Flipkart and Realme’s official channels.
