Samsung’s next Galaxy A-series phone is shaping up to be more than a routine refresh. Early leaks suggest the Galaxy A27 could arrive with a cleaner design and a notable shift away from Exynos, two changes that may make the midrange model stand out more sharply than its predecessor.
The most visible update appears to be on the outside. The device is said to move to a flat display with a hole-punch front camera, replacing the teardrop notch used on the Galaxy A26. Thin bezels are also part of the picture, along with a rear camera module shaped like a pill in the upper-left corner.
A cleaner body and a more restrained layout
The leaked design, shared by OnLeaks and MyMobiles, points to a handset that looks simpler and more polished. The back panel is described as minimal, with the Samsung logo placed near the bottom and the power and volume buttons on the right side.
Color options are also expected to stay broad enough for mainstream buyers. Samsung is said to be preparing black, blue, and bright pink versions of the Galaxy A27.
The chipset shift is the bigger story
While the new look will draw attention, the hardware change is even more important. Samsung is rumored to leave Exynos behind and use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 instead.
That move could matter a great deal for the Galaxy A line in the midrange segment. The chip is said to be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and as much as 256GB of internal storage, which would place the phone in familiar territory for everyday use while still signaling a fresh direction.
Software and battery remain familiar
On the software side, the Galaxy A27 is reportedly running One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. That combination suggests Samsung is updating both the visual identity and the system experience rather than focusing on design alone.
Battery capacity is expected to stay at 5,000mAh, with 25W fast charging still on board. The formula is not new for Samsung’s midrange lineup, but the pairing of a large battery with a Snapdragon chip could help strengthen efficiency and day-to-day performance.
Triple rear cameras are still in place
Photography is expected to remain practical rather than flashy. The phone is said to include a triple-camera setup on the rear, led by a 50MP main camera with OIS.
It is joined by a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy A27 is rumored to use a 12MP front camera.
Thin enough for the segment
In terms of size, the device is said to measure around 7.8 mm thick. Its weight is also expected to stay close to 200 grams, keeping it within the usual range for a midrange smartphone with a large battery.
Taken together, the leaks suggest Samsung is aiming for a clearer identity with the Galaxy A27. The combination of a flatter design, slimmer bezels, and a switch to Snapdragon is the part most likely to define how the phone is received once it becomes official.
