vivo has added a new option to its entry-level lineup in Mexico with the T5 4G, and the device is most notable for one reason: it combines a 7,200mAh battery with IP68/IP69 water resistance. That combination is uncommon in this price segment, especially when paired with a 120Hz display and a large storage package.
The phone is positioned for everyday users who want long battery life, solid durability, and enough performance for routine use, gaming, and streaming. In a market where low-cost phones often force buyers to choose between endurance and build protection, the vivo T5 4G tries to cover both.
Display and design
The vivo T5 4G uses a 6.75-inch LCD panel with a 1570 x 720 resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and app switching feel smoother than on standard 60Hz screens.
The display also reaches up to 1250 nits HBM brightness, helping visibility in direct sunlight. vivo offers the phone in Gold and Black, keeping the overall look simple and modern.
Performance and software
Power comes from the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G chipset. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, while Extended RAM adds up to another 8GB for multitasking support.
Out of the box, the T5 4G runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6. For biometric security, the fingerprint sensor sits on the side of the device.
Battery and charging
The main headline is the 7,200mAh battery, which is unusually large for this class. That capacity is the key factor behind the phone’s appeal for users who spend long hours on social media, gaming, or video playback.
vivo pairs the battery with 44W fast charging. The charging support should help reduce downtime, even with the larger cell inside the phone.
Cameras and durability
On the back, the vivo T5 4G carries a 50MP main camera alongside a 2MP secondary sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 32MP front camera.
Durability is another strong point, thanks to IP68 and IP69 certification. That level of protection is more often associated with higher-tier devices, making the T5 4G stand out further in the budget category.
Connectivity, size, and price
The phone supports dual SIM 4G, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, and an infrared blaster. It measures 166.64 x 78.43 x 8.39mm on the Black version and 8.49mm on the Gold version, with a weight of around 219 grams.
In Mexico, vivo is offering only one configuration: 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The official price is MXN 5,799, and availability in Indonesia has not been announced.
