Samsung’s Galaxy A27 is shaping up as a midrange phone with a clear trade-off: stronger performance on one side, but a reduced ultrawide camera on the other. That balance could matter a lot for buyers who want a device that feels faster without losing the camera flexibility expected in this segment.
The biggest change centers on the chipset. Galaxy A27 is reported to move away from Exynos and switch to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a move that should improve efficiency and overall performance while also helping with heat management. For a model in the Galaxy A lineup, that shift makes the device look more attractive on paper than its predecessor.
A more modern front, plus stronger signs of launch readiness
The phone is also said to be getting a cleaner front design. Instead of a waterdrop notch, Galaxy A27 is expected to use a punch-hole display cutout, giving it a more current look.
That update matches the rest of the leaked design direction. Render images from OnLeaks show a simple body with a flat back panel and a pill-shaped camera module placed at the top left, while the color options shown include Black, Blue, and Pink.
Galaxy A27 has also started appearing in Geekbench and has passed certification. Its presence in BIS India and SIRIM Malaysia adds weight to the idea that commercial availability is getting closer.
Large display and generous memory
On the display side, the phone is expected to carry a 6.7-inch Full HD screen. The panel is also believed to be AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, a combination that should appeal to users who value smooth scrolling and a sharp visual experience.
The hardware package is rounded out by up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. That configuration suggests the phone is being positioned for everyday multitasking as well as light gaming.
Samsung is also expected to ship Galaxy A27 with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. If accurate, that would make the device arrive with a very recent software version at launch.
Camera changes that may divide interest
The camera setup is where the most noticeable compromise appears. Galaxy A27 is said to keep a triple rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor and OIS, signaling that Samsung still wants the primary camera to remain the key selling point.
The ultrawide camera, however, is reportedly being cut back from 8MP on Galaxy A26 to 5MP on Galaxy A27. That reduction stands out because it comes at the same time the chipset and front design are being upgraded.
The front camera is expected to use a 12MP sensor. It is also said to offer better low-light performance and support 4K video recording, which points to Samsung prioritizing selfie quality alongside the main rear camera.
Taken together, the leaked details suggest a very specific direction for Galaxy A27. Samsung appears to be leaning into Snapdragon performance, a larger and smoother display, and a more polished front design, while accepting a smaller ultrawide camera as part of the overall balance.
