Xiaomi is pushing air conditioners in a different direction with the Mijia Air Conditioner GentleAir, placing comfort on the same level as cooling speed. Instead of sending a strong blast straight at the body, the unit is designed to spread air more softly across the room.
That shift is the key idea behind the product. Xiaomi wants the airflow to feel less piercing and more evenly distributed, while still aiming for fast temperature changes when needed.
Airflow designed to feel less direct
To support that approach, Xiaomi uses a new air outlet design with a micro-perforated flap. The component helps break up the airflow so it spreads more evenly instead of concentrating on one spot.
The result is a gentler air pattern than a conventional air conditioner. The focus is not only on reaching a target temperature, but also on how the air feels while the unit is running.
Xiaomi claims the GentleAir can cool a room in 30 seconds under suitable conditions. For heating, the company says it takes about 60 seconds.
Three airflow modes for different needs
The GentleAir includes three airflow modes for different situations. Halo Flow is meant to circulate air around the room while reducing direct airflow toward the body.
Canopy Flow directs cool air from above so it can reach a wider area. When heating is used, Carpet Flow pushes warm air upward from near the floor.
Xiaomi also adds four-way swing support. This helps distribute air in more directions and makes circulation feel more balanced across the room.
Fast response and smarter power use
For users who want quicker results, the unit offers Turbo Mode. Xiaomi says this mode is designed to speed up cooling or heating when a room needs to reach the desired temperature more quickly.
The GentleAir also includes AI Energy Saving mode. Xiaomi claims this feature can reduce power consumption by up to 24.5%.
According to the company, the system adjusts operation based on environmental conditions and usage patterns collected over time. Actual results may still vary depending on room size, temperature, and installation conditions.
Four capacity options and smart home control
Xiaomi is offering the GentleAir in four capacities: 2.6kW, 3.5kW, 5.2kW, and 7.0kW. That range gives buyers more flexibility when choosing a unit for different room sizes.
The product is also connected to Xiaomi’s broader smart home ecosystem. Through the Xiaomi Home app, users can access remote control, scheduling, and device status monitoring.
Google Assistant support is available as well for voice commands. The global starting price is €569, and sales have begun through Xiaomi’s online store and selected retail partners. Xiaomi notes that pricing and launch timing may differ by region.
