Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Keeps The Same Slim Profile While Adding A 5,000mAh Battery

A new leak around the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra suggests that Samsung is trying to solve one of the biggest trade-offs in foldables without changing the formula too much. The device is said to carry a 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging, and a body that stays as slim as its predecessor.

That combination stands out because large batteries in foldables often come with added bulk. Here, Samsung appears to be aiming for longer battery life while keeping the device light and thin enough to preserve the premium feel of the lineup.

Battery and charging move to the front

The most talked-about change comes from Ice Universe on X, who claims the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will step up to a 5,000mAh battery. That would mark a clear increase from the 4,400mAh capacity in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Charging also appears to be getting a notable upgrade. The same leak points to 45W charging, up from 25W on the previous model, which should make daily top-ups more convenient if the information proves accurate.

Slimmer body despite a larger battery

What makes the leak more interesting is the claim that Samsung is not adding battery capacity at the cost of size. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is said to weigh 215 grams, exactly the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Ice Universe also says the unfolded thickness will reach 4.1mm, slightly slimmer than the Fold 7’s 4.2mm when opened. That would mean Samsung is refining the hardware rather than taking a dramatic new design direction.

Design language remains familiar

Other details suggest Samsung is keeping the overall form factor close to the current generation. The reported dimensions, display sizes, and general design are said to be very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The device is expected to keep a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch main foldable screen. That points to a familiar large-format approach, with Samsung focusing more on internal improvements than on a visual overhaul.

Bluetooth SIG listing adds another clue

The name Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has also surfaced in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group database. The listing confirms the model name and the main SM-F976 number, along with several regional variants, including SC-56G, SCG39, SM-F976C, SM-F976Q, and SM-F976Z.

The Bluetooth SIG entry does not reveal technical specifications, but its appearance usually suggests a device is moving closer to an official launch. In this case, it reinforces the idea that the foldable is already deep in the certification process.

Performance and camera details remain part of the picture

Beyond battery and charging, the leak also points to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 as the expected chipset. That would place the device in Samsung’s premium performance tier, with support for multitasking, AI processing, and power efficiency.

Camera details are also starting to emerge. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is said to feature four rear cameras, including a 200-megapixel main camera and one 50-megapixel sensor, while the other two rear cameras have not been disclosed.

Launch window looks close

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to arrive next month alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It is also said to be introduced during Galaxy Unpacked on July 22 in London.

With the Bluetooth SIG listing now visible and Ice Universe’s leak pointing to bigger battery and faster charging, the emerging picture is a foldable that keeps the same slim footprint while trying to deliver better endurance and more practical day-to-day use.
