Tecno Pova 8 Leans On An 8,000mAh Battery And A New Matrix Light Design

Tecno is preparing to bring the Pova 8 to India with one specification that immediately sets it apart in the crowded midrange segment: an 8,000mAh battery. The phone is scheduled to debut on June 11 at 12 pm IST, and Tecno has already started revealing enough details to make the device stand out before launch.

The company is not leaning on battery life alone. Early teasers show that the Pova 8 is also being shaped around a redesigned rear panel, with a more distinctive visual identity than its predecessor.

A new lighting element becomes the main talking point

The most noticeable change appears around the rear camera area, where Tecno has added a dot-matrix-style lighting element. That detail gives the Pova 8 a more modern look and helps create a stronger identity than the previous generation.

The lighting system is said to resemble the Glyph Matrix idea seen on Nothing Phone 3 and Phone 4a Pro. Such an approach is typically used to display notifications and other important information without waking the main screen.

Launch details and early sales signals

News of the device surfaced through a post from Pova Mobile India on X. At the same time, a promotional banner in the Flipkart app suggests that the phone may be sold through the e-commerce platform in India.

Teasers have also shown the Pova 8 in green and silver color options. The camera arrangement still echoes the Tecno Pova 7, but the module itself appears to have been redesigned.

Big battery, fast charging, and broad connectivity

The confirmed 8,000mAh battery makes Tecno’s direction for this model very clear. It is aimed at users who want long-lasting power for daily use, entertainment, and heavier mobile activity.

FCC database information also points to 45W wired fast charging support. That combination matters because a larger battery becomes far more practical when charging times stay reasonable.

Connectivity appears to be fairly complete as well. The phone is said to support 3G, 4G, and 5G networks, along with Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, and GPS.

NFC may not be available in every market, however. That suggests the feature could vary depending on where the phone is sold.

Early hardware clues have already surfaced

A device believed to be the Pova 8 was also spotted on Geekbench with a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. The listing showed 6GB of RAM and indicated that the phone runs Android 16.

Other leaks point to multiple memory configurations being prepared. Those options are said to include 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB.

If those variants are accurate, Tecno seems to be building a lineup that can cover both standard users and buyers who need more storage. That approach would give the Pova 8 a wider reach within the same series.

For now, Tecno has not revealed the official price, camera specifications, screen size, or final availability details. Those missing pieces are expected to be confirmed at the India launch on June 11 at 12 pm IST, where the 8,000mAh battery and matrix-style rear lighting are likely to remain the phone’s two biggest selling points.
