Motorola’s new Edge 70 Pro+ is aiming at buyers who want a large battery without giving up a slim body or fast charging support. The phone stands out immediately with its 6,500mAh battery, 50MP telephoto camera, and a 7.19mm frame that keeps the overall design relatively thin.
That balance of endurance and hardware puts the device in a strong position in India’s increasingly crowded upper mid-range segment. Motorola has paired the battery with 90W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging through both wired and wireless methods.
Pricing, availability, and color options
The Edge 70 Pro+ launches at Rs. 47,999 and comes in a single configuration: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Sales begin on 11 June through Flipkart and Motorola India’s online store.
Motorola is also offering an instant cashback of Rs. 3,000. Buyers can choose an exchange bonus instead, depending on the offer they prefer.
The phone arrives in three Pantone-curated finishes: Pantone Chicory Coffee, Pantone Stormy Sea, and Pantone Zinfandel. Those color choices are part of Motorola’s effort to make the device feel as distinct in appearance as it is in hardware.
Display and durability
On the front, the Edge 70 Pro+ uses a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution at 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. Motorola says the panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 100 percent DCI-P3 color coverage, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness of up to 5,200 nits.
The company also includes Water Touch for better responsiveness when the screen or fingers are wet. For protection, the handset carries IP68, IP69, and MIL-810H ratings.
Performance and software
Inside, Motorola uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme built on a 4nm process. The octa-core chip is said to reach a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz, and Motorola claims the phone scores more than 24,00,000 points on AnTuTu.
The memory setup includes 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. To help maintain performance under load, Motorola adds vapour chamber cooling with a 4,600 mm square heat-dissipation area, while the software side runs Android 16 with Hello UI.
Camera system takes the spotlight
Motorola has clearly pushed the camera setup as one of the Edge 70 Pro+’s biggest differentiators. The rear system uses three 50MP cameras and an LED flash, led by a Sony LYT-710 main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS.
The same camera array also includes a 50MP periscope telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom, up to 50x digital zoom, and OIS. A third 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 112-degree field of view completes the setup, while a 2-in-1 light sensor supports the imaging system.
For video, the rear cameras can record up to 4K at 60fps. On the front, Motorola has fitted a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus for selfies and video calls.
Battery capacity in a slim frame
The most eye-catching hardware decision is still the 6,500mAh battery, especially because Motorola has kept the body at 7.19mm thick and around 190 grams. That combination gives the phone an unusually large battery for its size class without making it feel bulky on paper.
Charging options are broad enough to match the battery size. Along with 90W fast charging over cable and 15W wireless charging, the phone also supports 5W reverse charging in both wired and wireless form.
Connectivity and security
The Edge 70 Pro+ supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. Security is handled by an in-display fingerprint scanner, backed by sensors including proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, and e-compass.
